How Long After Taking A Percocet Can I Have Alcohol
I take Percocet 325/10 up to 4 times a day PRN for chronic pain. I'd like to have a beer tonight. How long should I space the med and alcohol out?
No: You could die. You could fall asleep and stop breathing. You could pass out and vomit and inhale the contents of your stomach into your lungs, called aspiration pneumonia. If you are someone who likes to become intoxicated, I would strongly caution against taking opiates, as you are at high risk for developing an addiction problem. ...Read more
Hi There, I was just wondering if there are any serious side effects of taking only a few percocets while on pristiq 50mg, and also how dangerous drinking alcohol REALLY is on this anxiety medication. (I am not taking perc's while drinking alcohol though)
Suspicious: Not enough info. How many is "a few? " Should you be drinking alcohol which is a CNS depressant while taking an anti-depressant, Pristiq (desvenlafaxine)? Why are you taking an opioid which is also a CNS depressant? How close if not together re perc's and alcohol? Not enough info! ...Read more
Can I drink alcohol 10 hours after taking one 10-325mg Percocet? It was rx'd for recent surgery, but I only take it in the AM for PT.
Alcohol is a poison and it never did any body any good. Stay from it.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

I am taking percocet 10 mg for ongoing pains that have been ongoing for almost a year I cut them in half, so 5mg I believe. I take a half every 6 hours, and not before bedtime. I am not an addict nor do I abuse them, but I wonder if there will be any long
My opinion: Short acting opiates are not a good option in my opinion for long term pain issues. In some cases, perhaps as much as 1/3 of patients they can actually start to make pain worse. It is called neurosensitization. Try to find a pain management specialist that will give you options other than ongoing short acting opioids. Members of the american academy of pain management are a good bet. ...Read more
I am prescribed Percocet. If I took more than prescribed Monday, today weds how long will blood reflect this?
How does percocet make you forget to breath? How long does the effects last? I'm on 7.5mg and that makes me anxious if I could forget to breath
Not true: You do not forget to breath. That is an involuntary and not a voluntary act. There are centers in the body that control breathing but you consciously do not. Don't worry. ...Read more
Hi, I've taken percocet 10/325 for the better part of 3 weeks and average of 3-4 daily. Stopping now, how long until it'll be out of my urine? Thanks!
Agree though:: Predicting when urine would be negative is a bit uncertain. These tests stays positive longer when there has been longer use. I feel weird since it sounds like you are trying to beat a test. As answer wisely notes above, if prescribed, you wouldn't be dinged for taking doctor approved percocet. Clearance is variable, from 1-5 days, if you research detection timetables. ...Read more
How long will it take for 3 percocet 7.5mg to be out of my urine if I don't ever take them and if I urinate frequently?
Probably clear: Typically this drug is not detectable by the urine drug screen after 4 to 5 days. It depends on the condition of your liver and if other drugs are present and competing for metabolism. It also depends on the sensitivity and specificity of the test itself. Hope this helps! ...Read more
Narcotic complicatio: If you are asking this, likely your prescribing M.D. did not prescribe both these meds in this manner. If you are having so much pain not controlled by 5mg Percocet, what is the origin of the pain? That needs to be determined to prescribe effectively. In addition, with COPD, mixing 2 short-acting narcotics can lead to excessive respiratory depression in some folks. Get your M.D.'s approval. ...Read more
About 8 hours: Oxycodone is opiod in Percocet and it has a half-life of 3.5-4 hours which means that half of it will be eliminated in that time so theoretically unless you ingested more you are usually free of the Percocet about 8 hours after ingestion. You might help get it out faster by drinking water because it is excreted by urine (19% unchanged). ...Read more

No: You should be ok taking both together. Reglan (metoclopramide) and Percocet work via two separate mechanisms. A possible concern is that taking both might cause some constipation or stomach upset, so I'd watch for those symptoms. You should be able to address the constipation with a fiber supplement. ...Read more

We use a variety of medications to treat rls. In extreme cases we sometimes use pain medications (e.g. Percocet).
If you are currently taking percocet, the medication could be suppressing RLS symptoms. If you suddenly stop taking the medication, RLS symptoms will recur (possibly the same night) and continue nightly.
Please consult with a local sleep specialist. ...Read more
Can you take percocet and klonopin (clonazepam) together? If not, how long do you have to wait between the two? Having anxiety from taking percocet that possible?
Not good together: They can both cause drowsiness, dizziness, impairment in coordination and slowing of respiration. If you need an anxiolytic you should consider a switch to a shorter acting benzodiazepine such as Ativan or xanax (alprazolam) instead of klonopin. If you are not suffering from severe pain consider a switch to Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen from the percocet. ...Read more

A few days: I would expect typical pain from a procedure like this to abate after 4 to 7 days, but we each have our own pain threshold! Some people require no narcotic pain meds for surgery like this, but others might need Percocet for 10 to 14 days. Be sure to let your doctor know if you need a refill, as this medicine can't be phoned in- a written prescription is required. ...Read more

Had alif 2 woks ago. Still need percocet, 15mg, round the clock w/robaxin. Wake up in pain. Is this normal recovery & how long should I expect this?
This is still very: Early in postop period. Painpost op is a very individual response & is dependent on multiple factors: use of pain meds pre op &length of use, extent of surgery & diagnosis for surgery, any complications related to surgery, other existing medical problems, tobacco use, physical conditioning at time of surgery, etc. You should discuss this with surgeon especially if no decrease by 6 weeks postop. ...Read more
