How Do You Protect Your Eyes From Harmful Radiation When Working On Computer
You don't need to: Unless you are using an older computer monitor (mid-1990s or earlier), you do not need to be concerned about radiation. Today's flat screens are pre-shielded, emit light differently than older cathode ray tube (crt) monitors, and are no longer found to be a cause for concern. Although monitor filters are still available, there is no proof that they are of any benefit with modern screens. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Working on computer, window behind me. Could see reflection of outside on screen. Bright sunny day. Could sun glare damage eyes this way?
I believe you could: experience the effects of glare from this mechanism. Glare is light that does not help to create a clear image on the retina. Disability glare reduces contrast and interferes with the clarity of a visual image. Glare can cause headaches, eye pain and chronic computer screen glare can lead to dry eye syndrome. Wear protective lenses/sunglasses when outside. Reposition monitor; try anti-glare screen ...Read more
Am I gonna have an eye infection? I keep forgetting and rub my eyes while working on computer at public library
Unlikely: Eye infections require exposure to a possible organism and the susceptibility of your body. We rub our eyes a lot in many circumstances and yet infection is uncommon. Computer work is drying and that is probably why you rub your eyes so often. Take with you a bottle of lubricating tears when you use a computer and apply this instead of rubbing. ...Read more

Is it fatigue, eyestrain or dry eye syndrome that makes my eyes feel funny when working on computer for 14 hours per day?
How to avoid getting itchy on the inner part of the eye. I have dry eyes too. How to increase tear flow while working on computer or on dry weather?
I have eye sight problem. Cannt see far things. I use spectacles of 0.5. Should i wore same specs or an antiglare specs when working on computer.
Either: If you feel more comfortable in your glasses at the computer, then perfectly fine to use them. An antireflective coating probably won't add much to comfort, however. Your symptoms of not being able to see far things clearly without spectacles indicates myopia, I presume a -0.5 corrective spectacle. I would assume your near vision at your age not to require any help at the computer to begin with. ...Read more

I am having daily headaches for about 3 weeks now, in particular coming on while eating or after, OR sometimes from a bit of eye strain from working on computer.
The causes of headaches are many and varied. The associated symptoms you mention of being worse or exacerbated by eating makes me think of a neuralgia.
In this condition, one or more nerves are irritated, inflamed and produce the symptoms you mention.
I recommend you to visit a neurologist to be properly evaluated and treated. ...Read more
Is any screen or shield needed to limit radiation from computer screens to prevent eye degradation?
No: Computers do not cause vision problems. Some people find that staring at a computer screen for many hours a day contributes to a condition called dry eye. You may help avoid this by reminding yourself to blink every few seconds and by looking away from the screen every few minutes. See your doctor if you have eye problems. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

The preservatives in artificial tears are making my eyes tire more quickly from computer use. Hope this can be undone by switching, ie, not permanent?
