Make him take part: By including your toddler during breastfeeding, he/she can become part of the team. Your toddler can hold your baby's hand, hand you the burp towel and even help pat your little one during the burping process. Praise and positive words will bring a smile as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
6 mo is fine: In previous years when homemade formula from cow milk was routine, early feeding was necessary to improve nutrition. Now we understand breast or formula alone is fine & allows baby to develop motor skills that improve their transition to solids.I like to start @ 6m when baby can prop sit.Making your own is a great way to avoid some of the additives & preservatives in commercial products. ...Read more
What kind of vitamin: You can't overdose of water soluble vitamins b and c. They leave the body in the urine. You can overdose a baby on too much vitamin a and d. Consult with your pediatrician for the amounts to give and the necessity to give. I don't think its necessary if the baby is formula fed. ...Read more

6 months: Younger babies normally do not drink water. They just drink breast milk or formula when they get thirsty. Water is a thinner liquid than milk, so babies sometimes have trouble drinking water (but they drink milk just fine). With older babies that are already on solid foods, they can try a bit of water sometimes during mealtimes. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Watch your letdown: Sometimes when your milk comes out very quickly a baby can get too much in their mouth, they aren't the most coordinated at sucking and swallowing. Sometimes pulling away is their signal that the letdown is too fast for them. If this describes you try positioning the baby so that they nurse against gravity. If it is still a problem you can pump a little first then nurse. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Depend on baby's age: If your baby is younger than 12 months of age, i would recommend baby formula till 12 months. After that you can give homogenized milk, but limit the amount to no more than 24 oz a day. If you give more milk, chance of developing iron deficiency is very high. The baby also should eat jarred baby foods, increasing the volume gradually. Start with vegetables such squash, green beans, and liver, beef. ...Read more

Commercial teeth rings that can be frozen are available as well. Teething is a normal process. I would avoid medication like painkillers unless absolutely necessary. Most babies really don't need them. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Its up to you & babe: Over three decades I have seen consultants pro/con write about pacifiers. We are told babies are to confused if started early, but most will still breast feed well & they will never tell us why if they don't. I find babies put down to sleep with a pacifier will wake in the night and cry until someone puts it back in, not a good scene at 3am. Best use is when alert as a self soothing tool. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
