Hc Measurement Fetal
Maybe: This is in the area of overlap where crl loses accuracy and measuring fetal parts like head diameter is also not as accurate, which is why we like to do sono before 12 or after 14. ...Read more

At 21 wks 3 days pregnant anomaly scan, baby measures HC 19.9 cm and weighs 482 gm. with 158 bmp. Is the baby measuring small? Is the growth OK?
Normal: All of those measurements are within a normal range. It is actually a little too early to reliably judge rate of growth, but so far so good. ...Read more
Ac: Measurements later in pregnancy become less accurate. Dating usually happens from your first ultrasound done. Sometimes the baby develops growth restriction. The measurement of the abdominal circumference is usually the first sign of that. The average of all measurements together can also show growth restriction or actually a large baby! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Uterus is gravid containing a gestational sac.Gs measures about 40mm, corresponds with 9 weeks 2 days gestation. No fetal pole or heartbeat. Good/bad?
Fetal heartrate measured btwn 132-180 during transvaginal ultrasounds Btwn weeks 6-9. An abdominal scan measured 158 at 9 weeks. Cause for concern?
What individual fetal measurement holds accuracy (represents true gestational age) longest in pregnancy (fl, ac, bpd, hc)?
Must use averages: I don't believe that any single measurement is most accurate throughout pregnancy. It is usually the averages that are taken. The most accurate measurements are actually in the first trimester in the way of the crown rump length in terms of predicting the estimated date of delivery. ...Read more
30w3d us gave bpd 74mm, hc 289mm, AC 272mm, fl 57.5mm efw 1647g. Normal at this gestation? Hc & AC measur almost a week ahead. Dates wrong? Problem?
Normal: It's completely normal to have some disparity in the growth measurements, almost no pregnancy has 'perfect' accordance with the measurements. At your gestation, measurements would have to be more than 2 weeks disparity in order to be concerned, 1 week is definitely within standard deviation of error of the technology of the ultrasound, even. No worries! ...Read more

Is the measurement of occipitofrontal diameter at 44.4mm within normal measurement range for 16weeks 2 days gestation?
Atypical measure: Not only do we not typically measure the occipitofrontal diameter, but i can imagine no reason to be getting such a detailed scan at 16 weeks. Is there a concern that you are not mentioning? The standard head measurments are the bpd and the hc (biparietal diameter and head circumference). ...Read more
15mm Gestational sac identified
2wks later 17mm gestational sac with CRL 3.8mm with no cardiac activity.
Is miscarriage imminent?
Maybe: The fact that the embryo has essentially stopped growing and there is no cardiac activity suggests a failed pregnancy. Sometimes Mother Nature does not eject the failed embryo, but it remains in a degenerated state called a "missed abortion". Your MD will be able to make that determination with further testing and take the necessary action. ...Read more
6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?
Don't worry: The most important thing is that the fetus has a heartbeat. Did they tell you an actual fetal heart rate? Sometimes the gestational sac looks different. There could be a nearby fibroid or subchorionic hemorrhage. Signs of a miscarriage are uterine cramping and bleeding. If you are not having those symptoms I would not worry about this. The sonogram can be repeated in 1-2 weeks. ...Read more
