I received a needle stick from a suture needle while performing external sutures. There was visible blood on the suture needle. The patient had interna?
Pretty simple: I just use a 2-0 or 3-0 stitch, which i tie down to the patient , then i wrap the suture around the catheter and tie it down . I just want a little crimp in the drain catheter, so it won't slip out but will allow drainage. I prefer braided (silk) suture for this, though some prefer nylon. I hope this answers your question. Interesting. Good luck. ...Read more

Yes: Yes, typically the vacuum assisted biopsy guns are attached to the computer/machine because a program runs it and the vacuum runs through it.Sometimes a handheld stereotactic gun is used instead due to the nature of the lesion being biopsied-much better for dense tissue or firm lesions. The clumsiness of all the tubing with the vacuum ones can be a problem too although better for calcifications. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
