2 P or Not 2 P...: It is not uncommon for your bladder to get a bit "shy" after surgery due to the (pain) medications and anesthesia. If you do not feel the urge to urinate nor pain in the lower abdomen, i wouldn't worry. However, after 12 hours you should feel that urge; if not, i suggest you call your surgeon. ...Read more

I have had stomach pain for over a week now and now I am bleeding. Should i be concerned? I have had a hysterectomy so I do not have periods.

Hello. : Hello. Recommend that this be evaluated. If the bleeding is vaginal in a woman who has had a hysterectomy, this is a menstrual change which needs to be assessed. If the bleeding is from your anus, that is some form of gastrointenstinal bleeding and also needs to be evaluated. When there is severe abdominal pain, it should evaluated post haste. Maybe ileus: After abdominal surgery with general anesthesia, it is common for the intestines to be uncoordinated, and not move the fluid and gas through the intestinal tract normally. Possibly: It depends on whether this is a true keloid or a hypertrophic scar. The difference is sometimes not clear, but a keloid generally extends beyond the limits of the original scar, the ht scar does not. If the scar is just thickened, the stretching of the abdomen with pregnancy may actually thin it out. I wouldn't be too concerned about this. ...Read more

I'm 16 I have had my period for 5-6 years and I want to know should I be regular yet and I haven't had my period in about 5 months should I be worried?

Pregnant?: First of all, if you are sexually active, make sure that you are not pregnant. Pregnancy is the most common cause for missed periods. However, there are many other causes. If you have not had a period in 5 months and are not pregnant, then I suggest that you see a doctor as soon as possible. It could be a problem with your thyroid, stress, or other abnormality. Best to get it checked out. ...Read more
