I'm 27/f. Had emergency appendectomy 2 mo ago. Was back at work 6 days later. Now for last week diarrhea and lost 4lbs so now 125. Surgery related?
Diarrhea after appy: Diarrhea 2 months after an appendectomy is unlikely to be surgery related. Diarrhea can result after a large amount of colon is removed but generally not after an appendectomy, which removes a small tube-like structure from the cecum. Ask your doctor: If you are scheduled for surgery the doctor seeing you should be aware of and discussing the issues you bring up. They may wish to delay the surgery until the signs and symptoms suggesting infection have abated, or perhaps that is the reason you need surgery. Talk to your doctor, and pray you are better soon. ...Read more
I had gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago. Now, I can't eat fatty meals without having diarrhea. Does this sound normal? This never occurred b4 surgery.
Very common: The gall bladder (GB) produces bile which breaks down fat and complex sugars. When the GB is gone, fatty food are not broken down well and this could lead to fast emptying that leads to diarrhea because it doesn't go through the normal digestive process. So avoid fatty foods as much as you can and also sweet things. This may also lead to some weight loss. Stay healthy. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

About a year ago my stomach became very sensitive and now i get diarrhea frequently. Why? I blame it on jaw surgery and the drastic change in my diet.
Unlikely: That jaw surgery has caused this problem. Changes in diet can cause changes in digestive patterns. You should discuss with your doctor as there can be so many causes.
