Inflammation associated with mucosal injury in the stomach. Gastritis is commonly a result of infectious or autoimmune diseases, although it can also result from drugs, extreme stress reactions, or hypersensitivity reactions.

Pain: Pain in the epigastric region/stomach, heart burn, burping, nausea, occasional vomit, pain with food or sometimes pain on not eating food.
Remedy - stop smoking, alcohol, regular food, decrease stress, avoid spicy food.

At the very least, consider a trial of an h2 blocker. If that doesn't work, consider a trial of a ppi. Both are available otc w/o prescription.
