Nasal foreign bodies are generally not emergencies and can be seen in clinic as soon as possible. The er doc can traumatize your child and cause bleeding. I am struggling with dry painful eyes. I got prescription glasses last year but it's not helping. I have noticed small bump on the white part of my eyes close to the nose side. It feels like a foreign object that's causing me pain and discomfort.
Need a lubricant: Prescription glasses will help only with the vision component not the dry eye problem. You should also be using an eye lubricant or replacement tears type of drops for your eyes. These are sold over the counter or by prescription by your opthalmalogist. Also have the eye dr check your bump as it may be caused by irritation. ...Read more
I would never: You can wet a Q-tip and place the wet end near the object & then gently tease it off the eye. If it will not move, you need to go to an urgent care clinic so they can extract it. An alternative might be using a big bottle of artificial tears to squirt at/flush the object. You cannot control the flow or direction of a showerhead & are likely to do more harm than good. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes: It is possible to inhale a foreign object through the nose and into the lungs, but it is not easy to do. Luckily, most foreign bodies get stopped along the way towards the lungs. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

How clean is clean?: In real life, people who don't want to use chemicals can wipe down "nonporous" toys with a moist towel, let them dry, and put them away for a while. If a person is really worried enough to do this, she can get 14 plastic storage boxes, each containing "nonporous" toys, and ROTATE the boxes. Bring out the oldest box each day, which contains toys untouched for the last 14 days. That usually works. ...Read more

Why does head hurt if you miss 2 or 3 days of you anxiety meds, or could it be from hitting head with sharp object?
Just like hangover: Some anti anxiety control the release, the reuptake or let's just say the activity of nerve chemical transmitters and that balance of activity is skewed after not taking the medicine, just like after drinking alcohol and the alcohol effect is going away. Some others are controlled meds and can cause tantamount to withdrawal. This is a simplistic way of explaining it. ...Read more
