Cardio Mix: The best way to lose weight is cardio and a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with running, biking, swimming, or circuit training. Ultimately you need to burn more than you consume. Exercises such as crunches, planks, sit-ups, etc are good for toning the abdominal muscles, but cardio is best for weight loss.

Can't diagnose it on: The basis of just those few symptoms, but pain and tenderness in that area, with ear involvement, plus coughing up blood can relate to a serious bacterial infection. You need to be seen and examined by a health professional asap, and get real advice from a physician who can actually see you and get what tests are needed to determine what the problem is and how to fix it.

Seek medical care: The symptoms which you describe can pertain to many things. Fatigue (tired) can be the result of anything from lack of sleep to imbalance of hormones to infectious/inflammatory processes and so much more. Coupled with weight loss, you could have a more serious condition than aforementioned. It is advisable you seek medical care.

Challenging in 400: Characters! My first question, why do you know your GFR? Estimated GFR from serum creatinine? It is actually not too uncommon for people to have reflux and irritable bowel at the same time. Both dysfunctions of the GI system. Would be uncommon for symptoms of GERD to be so severe as to cause anorexia and weight loss. Then, why low GFR? This can only be sorted out by detailed eval in person by Doc!

Multiple poss,: Whatever the issue, stress may be resulting in or adding to the issue. Alopecea areata is hair loss that can be caused by stress, get on some zantac (ranitidine) 150mg. If no medical reason is found, and often there isn't (adrenal insufficiency, thyroid, autoimmune dz) then Mirtazapine is a great drug for insomnia, appetite and mood/anxiety. It works well in those with your profile but you need to be seen.

ANS: Possible but not likely at your age unless you have strong FH of colon CA. I would tell y0ur Dr and have stool checked for blood and have rectal exam and then colonoscopy. Keep me posted.

What is your "net"?: Weight loss is a very nebulous term; 10 lbs of fat loss but 10 lbs of muscle gain nets you no weight loss but better health. A better measure is size (however it is less precise) or an accurate measure of body fat percentage (underwater weighing or bioelectrical impedance, but not calipers.) type of exercise, diet, metabolism, thyroid function, and medications all play a role with your troubles.

FBS 91 & 87 the same: Also given standard scale 71 and 69 are not very different in 2 month period. Depends on stooling time relative to test, and on level of hydration. The FBS estimates are the same w/i accuracy of these machines.

Small frequent meals: A diet that is high in protein, high on fiber and low in carbohydrates can help. You don't say how tall you are, but a rule of thumb for a woman is 1000 calories if you are 5 feet tall, plus another 50 calories for every inch above that, plus another 20% if you do some exercise. That's to maintain weight. To lose weight, subtract 100-200 calories from the total.

If we believed them, then most triathletes would be "underweight" and most professional football players -- fantastic athletes -- would be "overweight." your ideal weight is whatever looks and feels right to you and enables you to perform your chosen sport (s) best.

Wt loss->lower sugar: I am not 100% sure I am reading this question correctly, if you have changed your diet & exercise & lost 5 kg (11 pounds) over six months that is great & could easily have lead to your controlling your fasting blood sugar. This is great and you should continue to take care of yourself. If you are asking could a sugar change cause wt loss that is diff & requires eval for unexplained wt loss.

For short term: You may lose a lot of weight by eating only 1000 cal daily but the loss will not likely be sustained. The initial rapid loss is mostly from water. The best way for you to lose weight (a) Exercise more -both endurance and weight training 1.5 to 4.5 hours a week (b) reduce carb intake (c) eat slower- ear till you are no longer hungry. (d) engage in more social contact.
