Can protein shakes cause excessive body hair?

Can protein shakes cause excessive body hair?

What hormones are responsible for excessive body hair?

What hormones are responsible for excessive body hair?

Not hormones: A man with a normal amount of testosterone will be hairy or smooth depending on his genetic background. It's the skin's ability to respond. Taking extra testosterone won't turn a smooth man hairy -- if it did, the steroid monsters at the gym would all grow extra body hair, and by and large they do not. Smooth or hairy, I hope you like who you are -- or shave / "manscape" what you don't want. ...Read more

What to do if I'm a young man having excessive body hair. Some people say I might be suffering from hormonal imbalance and needimbalance be treated?

That's rubbish: How much body hair you have is genetic. Further, anybody who proposes to diagnose and then "treat" you for some mysterious problem just because you're naturally blessed with a lot of body hair is a medical quack. You're free to enjoy being hairy (many people like it), or if you / your partner (s) prefer smooth, you can shaves, wax, or (if you're sure) have electrolysis or laser Rx. ...Read more

first - thank G-d you are not a woman. Hirsuitism in men as in women can be nonhormonal or hormonaly mediated. The most common hormonal issue is a mild form of genetic defect that affects adrenal steroid production - Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia - of which many varieties. This usually fine for men as it raises testosterone. But male pattern balding is worsenned. Glad to discuss. ...Read more
