Don't get out of bed: or hang by Ur heels. All kidding aside, there is no way. Being upright compresses the spine & the disk spaces rehydrate while sleeping as they R unloaded. As soon as we stand the opposite happens. The fluid is squeezed out as we stand & walk about. ...Read more

Can someone explain how the "warm compresses" work on a wound?

Can someone explain how the "warm compresses" work on a wound?

Blood Supply: Hot compresses increase blood flow to the area and can increase the elasticity of the muscles and connective tissue surrounding the joints, thus minimizing stiffness and pain, and preparing the muscles to work more efficiently.Hot compress should not be applied longer than 15 to 20 mins at a time. I had a chalazion surgery about two months ago however the chalazion is still there. I've tried warn compresses repeatedly and nothing seems to work.

Recheck with eyedoc: Some chalazia are multi loculated so that your ophthalmologist may have cleaned out the larger one but simply missed the smaller one. A few will reseal and collect the debris and form another chalazion. Since these are benign, you can have another removal or simply ignore a small residual chalazion if that is all that is left. If in doubt , check with your ophthalmologist. ...Read more

Internal styes are worse than external ones,so I want to know home remedies besides compresses to aid in a healthy healing without pinkye developing?

Several things: Home treatment is all that is needed for most styes. Apply warm, wet compresses for 5 -10 minutes, 3 to 6 x's a day. This helps the area heal faster & open a blocked pore so that it can drain. Use an OTC ointment (such as Stye), solution (such as Bausch and Lomb Eye Wash), or medicated pads (such as Ocusoft Lid Scrub). Don't squeeze or open it. Don't wear eye makeup or contact lenses until healed ...Read more

In case of stye, should warm compresses be wet or dry?

Either will work: Anything warm or hot will help dilate and open up the clogged oil gland causing the stye. Either wet or dry will work. Typically we recommend damp/wet warm compresses as these are easier to make at home with hot water and a wash cloth. You could also place rice in a sock and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds. This will stay warm for up to 20 min, thus increasing heat to the stye. Good luck. ...Read more

I suffer with extreme shoulder tension that compresses my nerves into my hands, I have had this for ten years and has has every drug you can think o?

Try magnesium oil: Magnesium oil applied topically to skin gets into the muscles and can reduce muscle spasm. If you use heat first, then apply the magnesium oil and then gently stretch you may be able relieve the muscle tension. Sometimes acupuncture can help, too. Also look at what you are doing. Workouts with lots of repetitions may be contributing to the spasm. See if 25-oh vit d3 is low. ...Read more
