Are lexapro/celexa/viibryd the cleanest ssri's available. I.E the least interactions?

My dr prescribed me celexa (citalopram) about 2 years ago and today put me on adipex. He didn't mention an interaction. The pharmacist informed me. Any suggestions

MD can explain: An md might prescribe Celexa (citalopram) and adipex togther, especially if the benefits stand a cgood chance of outweighing the risks--these being an increase of adipex side-effects, such as agitation and rarely, more serious, new side effects. He/she can explain the rationale, and frequency of increased side effects, and what to look out for. ...Read more

Started savella (milnacipran) yesterday n place of celexa, feel better than n a long time! Less fatigue 4 sure, any interactions w/supplements 4 fibro? Co q10, st jon wa

Maybe: St. John's (stjw) & savella (milnacipran) can increase norepinephrine & serotonin levels, while stjw can also increase Dopamine levels (at high doses it acts like an mao-i). Depending on your unique metabolic characteristics (and the presence of cyp450 inhibitors), you might experience symptoms of serotonin syndrome (increased heart rate, sweating, over active reflexes). Discuss doses with prescribing doc. ...Read more

Are there any interactions with taking 4mg of cyproheptadine and 20mg of celexa (citalopram) and 0.25mg of clonazepam?

Moderate ones: The antihistamine might reduce or reverse the effects of the ssri and the anti-anxiety/panic/seizure drug can increase intensity and risk of the side effects of the other two drugs - dizziness, drowsiness, impaired thinking/judgement, etc. Talk with the doctor if these concern you. There may be alternatives. But, please do not stop any of them without consulting the doctor. Best! ...Read more

I saw on drug interaction site that I should not take cipro and celexa together, but I was prescribed cipro for a uti. Is this safe?

Consult your md: re: an alternative if possible. Macrodantin or Bactrim are popular first line drugs to treat uncomplicated UTIs. Cipro can have multiple drug issues, such that it is discouraged as a firstline agent; in the case of celexa, the 2drugs may cause q-t prolongation - a change in the rhythm of the heart that can be harmful. Tx for uncomplicated UTI is 3 d so may not be an issue/consult your doctor ...Read more

Can I take holy basil with celexa and synthroid (thyroxine)? Will this cause any interactions?

Can I take holy basil with celexa and synthroid (thyroxine)? Will this cause any interactions?

Apparently safe: There are no known interactions between holy basil and these medicines (it does interact with coumadin, (warfarin) but so does almost everything). It might slightly speed elimination of Celexa but this is not likely clinically significant. Holy basil is one of my favorite herbs, with many benefits; it's calming, anti-inflammatory, supports adrenals, lowers blood sugar. See http://www. Holy-basil. Com/6865.Html. ...Read more

Take 10mg celexa a day and just took 4 tbsp of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) for constipation. Just saw on drugs. Com there's a moderate interaction. Am I okay?

Yes.: You're on low dose of celexa. Just be cautious on milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) use. It's not good to use large amounts of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) at any time. The interactions you saw are very rare, and usually requires that you have electrolyte abnormalities that are not common at your age group.
