Can you take both melatonin and zzzquil together to sleep?

Can you take both melatonin and zzzquil together to sleep?

What's zzzquil?: Are you talking about Nyquil (over the counter)? The reaction between them is to increase sleepiness. I recommend against that combo. Melatonin's more SPECIFIC for sleep induction than Nyqil which puts you out due to its side effects. Ask your doctor for a good therapeutic dose of the melatonin first. BTW. What is a good time to take melatonin 3mg tablet to get a good 8 or 9 hours of sleep at night? Exspeacily someone with diebates type 1.

In this case, getting into bed in a low light and doing something relatively passive other than watching TV or staring at a glaring computer screen or much that requires a lot of intense thinking. Maybe listen to some music (other than Led Zep or Black Keys). Key concept: Mellow, dude! ...Read more

Whenever I take Melatonin to help me sleep (about once every couple of months) I ALWAYS wake up during the night feeling wide awake. Why is this?

Melatonin-excess: Melatonin helps with sleep onset and is a good option if your sleep-wake cycle is misaligned with the usual sleep-wake hours, however it does not help one to remain asleep and can cause premature awakening in those who have appropriate timely melatonin production. Too much melatonin can cause anxiety, irritability, depression (all of which can cause early awakening) and rarely even hallucinations. ...Read more
