I got e coli and a kidney infection after anal sex should my partner get treated if he has no symptoms?

UTI: At the very least your partner should have a urinalysis and if there is anything suspicious should have a urine culture done. These results will dictate treatment. However, without symptoms, I am doubltful there is anything that requires treatment at this point, but get the tests done and interpreted by your partner's doctor. ...Read more

I had unprotected anal sex today after taking Misoprostol on Tuesday. Will I get an infection& is it ok to take plan b after the medical abortion?

Birth control: Since you had an abortion this week that tells me that it is important to you not to get pregnant. Please see an Obgyn and get started on birth control. This way you can take control of your life and be pregnant when you want to be. Having anal sex a few days after a medical abortion does not lead to infection unless your male partner is carrying an STD. ...Read more

I had protected anal sex but I have this tear around my anus. What do I need to do to keep from getting HIV or an infection.?

Stay protected: I take it that you mean by the word protected that you are using condom. It gives you decent but not complete level protection against hiv. Anal tear however is likely to get infected by stool bacteria. Would see a doctor for evaluation and antibiotics. Cannot rule out that what you call a tear is actually herpes ulcers from earlier exposure that is just deactivating on you now. ...Read more

I've been having anal sex but without proper lubrication and I got tears in my anus so I put Neosporin in my anus too protect from infection this ok?

Be careful: Neosporin is probably okay for this, but I would add soaking in warm water with epsom salts and increasing your fluid and fiber intake.

I don't have to tell you to practice safe sex and use adequate lubrication in the future, but I will anyway. Please take care of yourself. Those tears increase your risk of sexually transmitted disease. ...Read more

I put noes potion in my anus to preven a bacterial infection because I had anal sex and it bled is this ok to use?

Rectal bleeding: I'm not sure what you mean by "noes potion", but anal sex can cause tearing of the lining of the tissues, making easy entry for bacteria and viruses, especially HIV. Bleeding from the rectum is not normal and needs evaluation. Best to see a health care provider for examination. ...Read more

I'm an asymptomatic carrier of salmonella typhi after traveling. Am I now at high (er) risk for infections via anal sex?

Carrier state: Asymptomatic carriers of salmonella typhi can transmit the infection to others through fecal to oral contact. I consider unprotected anal sex hazardous in your case. Tested 125 to 500 leu/uL. I have no symptoms of infections. Girlfriend has UTI. I have one kidney. Sometimes we have anal sex. Need I be concerned?

Yes: Anuses are not designed to tolerate the physical trauma and friction damage that anal sex causes... tissue damage occurs. Best to use the middle hole (the vagina). Also, there are billions of bacteria coming down into the anal-rectal area all day long... such as E. coli, Klebsiella, and all sorts of other species. ...Read more

Pregnancy worries?: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more

Can anal sex give me and infection In my anus if so what are the symptoms not STD but infection?

Can anal sex give me and infection In my anus if so what are the symptoms not STD but infection?

STDs are possible: Receiving anal sex does risk STDs of anus and rectum, especially gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, and syphilis. The same precautions are necessary as for vaginal sex: uninfected partner, condoms, etc. Non-STD problems include anal fissures and trauma with bleeding. The main symptoms of all these (STD and other) are discharge or mucus from anus or on stool, pain, and sometimes bleeding. ...Read more

I had anal sex for the first time and after he took it out my butt he put it in my vagina. Now I think I have a bacterial infection?

See answer: It is not advisable to have vaginal sex after anal sex because of increased risk of getting either a vaginal or urinary tract infection or more serious infection. If you absolutely must do this, always use condoms - one for the anal, one for the vaginal, as well as having him wash his penis in between. If you are having symptoms, you should see your gyne or md as soon as possible. ...Read more

My s/o and I recently had anal sex, and accidentally inserted some of his penis is my vagina right after. What can I do to prevent infection?

Wash: Just do things to keep yourself healthy: wash, drink a lot of water, sleep and don't stress. Take probiotics like acidophilus to support the healthy bacteria in your body: yogurt, apple cider vinegar, sauerkraut, kombucha....
I can't recommend douching because it can push bacteria further up into your system and increase risk of infection. However you can wash well with a gentle soap. ...Read more

I had unprotected anal sex followed by vaginal. What are my chances of getting a vaginal infection? Should I pretreat with flagyl or monistat?

Good question...: ...without a good answer. It's often recommended that vaginal sex be avoided after anal (or wash between) to reduce infection risk. However, there are no data to show it's actually a problem, and bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections are no more common in women who have anal sex. I would not recommend pre-treatment; better to just be on the alert for early symptoms and prompt treatment. ...Read more

Separate problems: You cannot get a urethral/penile STD from receptive anal sex. But if the sexual contact, or another recent contat, include urethral/penile exposure, perhaps that's the explanation. Any discharge? Painful urination? Penile blisters, sores, etc? Return to the clinic for additional evaluation. Good luck! ...Read more
