I have one premolar tooth and one molar in my ur, side-by-side. Can you tell me about a snap-on for esthetics and not about implants, at this time?
Partial dentures but: While removable partial dentures are an option, few dentists take the time to re-shape the "holding" teeth and even if they do, their dental labs may not utilize the design detail. What you need to ask for is a removable partial denture that's been "surveyed" for cast metal clasps and rest seats. Good ddss and prosthodontists still do this but it will cost! floss daily or lose your other teeth! ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Sir with braces over my biting teeth. Is it possible to take chapatis and any othef food that needs biting. I have put on braces for last two days.
Be patient!: Eating can be quiet a challenge during the first few painful weeks in braces. Chew slowly and carefully, and cut your food into small pieces. Stick to soft food. Forget the nuts and seeds. Bite with the side of your mouth. It may be virtually impossible to bite into anything with your front teeth for a while. Are tooth contouring and tooth shaping the same thing? I have a few teeth that overlap each other, and it seems like one of these procedures would be the one to help take care of that. I would just like a little clarificaiton as to which one of them i sho
Fresno, Tooth : Fresno, tooth shaping or contouring are referred to as enamelplasty. The very definition of the word means altering the shape of the enamel. Since the protective layering of each tooth can vary from 2-3mm down to tens of a millimeter, too much alteration and you are through the protective layer of tooth structure. This actually occurs naturally as you function everyday and at a greatly increased rate when/if a person unconsciously grinds or clenches their teeth. The best example for most to witness the result of self enamelplasty is usually on the tops (incisal edges) of their lower front teeth (mandibular central incisors). A good portion of our populace, as they age, have ground right through their enamel to a yellow layer called dentin. Take a look at your own teeth carefully and you may see the very example I am referring to. Don't worry if you have this, it is very common and usually amounts to nothing. In very very very (yes I am emphasizing its limitations) rare instances can this alone correct crowding. Usually, the technique is used in conjunction with orthodontic treatment such as invisalign to achieve desired results. Redered to as interproximal reduction, I do this for my invisalign patients on a limited basis, only .15 mm per side of any tooth (yes, that's 15 hundreds of a millimeter), very small. From : From your description, the tooth in question has an extremely guarded prognosis. You have two professional opinions; the first that the tooth is unrestorable, the second that it can be fixed, but long term success is questionable. Extracting the tooth and replacing it by another procedure (dental implant or fixed bridge) will be more expensive than fixing this tooth. Did the dentists discuss the alternatives and the costs of those alternatives?
