With fall on outstretched hand, had wrist sprain in er. Now have tingling little finger and sharp pain from elbow to hand. Is this ulnar nerve damage?
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more

Carpel tunnel?: You may have what we call carpel tunnel syndrome when the nerve is compressed by inflammation or anatomical structure. There's no pain, but once in awhile a tingling sensation in the elbow, ring/pinky& lil in shoulder blade. Pinch nerve? ulnar nerve problem? treatment?
Several things...: Tarsal tunnel syndrome can be treated conservatively with injections around the problem area, physical therapy to strengthen and improve the function of the ankle, and splinting to hold the ankle off the nerve that is getting pinched. If these things do no work quickly, though, an orthopedic surgeon may need to do surgery to relieve the compression on the nerve. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had nerve entrapment in cervical spine with repair surgery in 2010. Have nerve damage in the medial side of the arm to thumb. I get sporadic spasms in the arm that locks my hand and fingers. Cause?
Sharp pain on left thumb & wrist & spread to forearm which makes it feel very heavy and numb occur most night. Is it carpal tunnel or nerve compression?
Could be CTS: It sounds like it could be carpal tunnel syndrome (cts)which is a type of nerve compression, but this will often affect other fingers rather than just the thumb. Is it on the lateral or outside of the thumb? It could be a tenosynovitis as well. If you look up a test called a finklestein test, you can check yourself and see if its that. If you have neck pain, it could also be a radiculitis. ...Read more
Sure it can: Depending on the location and severity of the impingement, a pinched nerve in your neck can certainly cause symptoms along its path--as seen example picture here. A pinched/trapped nerve at the elbow behind your funny bone can do so as well, so is carpal tunnel syndrome. If symptoms bothersome, consult doc for evaluation/treatment. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fingers twitching specially left hand and thumb and index fingers, with pain, and the doctor said elbow compression, is twitching normal in elbow compression?
Depends on Onset: If your left hand and finger tips became numb suddenly, say, after an acute injury, you should go to the er to be evaluated for potential nerve damage. If the numbness came on gradually over a few days or weeks with no injury, it is likely not an emergency situation and you can make an outpatient appointment with your primary care physician for an evaluation. Carpal tunnel is most likely. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What are the symptoms of peroneal nerve compressed? Can it occur from ankle sprain? Fibula possibly moved and pinched nerve.
Nerve impingement: Unlikely, that the fibular bone moved to pinch a nerve. The peroneal nerve (superficial peroneal nerve) is located in the skin and can be impinged through swelling resulting from an ankle sprain. The bone, ligaments, muscle, tendons are deeper than the skin, but the swelling associated with injury can cause shooting pain, burning, tingling, and numbness. Hope this helps. ...Read more
