Concussion: Yes but a rare complication. After head trauma, an artery in the brain that is tethered or adjacent to the meninges can lead to tearing of an artery wall and formation of an aneurysm. The most common locations are the base of the skull and the pericallosal arteries along the falx cerebri. An MRI and MRA of the brain is used as a screening study to exclude a traumatic intracranial aneurysm. ...Read more

If you have persistent problems with memory in general sine the injury, that is a TBI (traumatic brain injury) related memory problem. Should be okay: I agree with the other docs who have answered this question. Doesn't say where you're from, but if you're in Europe I understand your concern: European docs are much more nervous about aspirin than US docs & try to use lower doses. However, the European Stroke Study showed that a dose in the 75-mg range provides a typical degree of prevention without appreciably increasing bleeding complications. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

A second mechanism, the bridging veins between the dura and the brain are torn producing a subdural hematoma. With lateral skull fracture, the middle meningeal artery can be torn producing an epidural hematoma. With violent falls, traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhages due to arterial tears. ...Read more
Had whiplash accident then 9 months later on MRI had brain clots in brain/rare stroke. How is this possible. All kinds of nuerogical problems now too?
Traumatic dissection: Not uncommon, in certain violent accidents, to have damage to large blood vessels in neck, such as arterial dissection. This may happen in the back of neck to the vertebral arteries, which pass upwards inside a canal in the vertebral body called foramen transversarum. When neck violently moves, the blood vessel can be compressed or torqued, blocking blood flow and thus a stroke. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
