Throid nodules. Upper right lobe hot, lower right lobe cold 3.4cm. Does that mean I have hyper and hypo thyriodism at the same time?
No, the activity: of individual nodules on a thyroid scan may not, in and of themselves, imply hyper or hypothyroidism, which are diagnoses based on systemic symptoms and blood levels. Certainly, however, an autonomous hot nodule could result in hyperthyroidism. Cold nodules have a higher chance of malignancy(although still relatively low), and biopsy may be indicated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Thyroid u/s reviled “solitary right of midline, 9mm complex cystic nonvascular ismuth nodule”.. Should i be worried / biopsy?
Possibly : The ultrasound should be followed up with an appointment with an ear, nose and throat surgeon to discuss biopsy vs an additional nuclear medicine test that can give more information about the nodule. There should also be some lab tests done to measure thyroid hormones. All of that information will be used in making the best decision for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hypodense nodule in right thyroid bed. 11mm x 9mm significance is unknown. Nonspecific lymph nodes. What are chances this could be cancerous?
I had total thyroidectomy. Hypodense nodule right thyroid bed 11mm by 9mm. Significance uncertain. Nonspecific lymph nodes. Could this be cancerous?

Frozen section usually performed would inform surgeon of pathology and as such if Ca, a lymph node dissection would have been performed. If no Ca then any lesion in the bed is benign but should be followed. ...Read more

Depends on size: You might not feel anything if it's small. Otherwise, it could feel like a lump, a node and if it's big enough, it can feel like a growth/mass on your neck. If it's liquid, like a cyst, it could be soft. If it's a solid growth, it could be rubbery and if it's calcified, it could have a rock/hard feel to it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
It depends: A, "not active" nodule of the thyroid, also referred to as a, "cold nodule" was classically one which did not trap various radioactive tags on nuclear thyroid scanning. Classically, a solitary cold nodule was felt to be at a 50% risk for harboring a malignancy. As a result, such nodules are often subjected to needle biopsy, frequently under ultrasound guidance, for further evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
