The maximum doses of each ppi are equipotent in reducing acid. Going higher than these doses impart no greater benefit and should not be exceeded.

Accidentally took 80 mg omeprazole rather than 40 over 15 hours. Palpitations, doc says should be fine -but how long till the symptoms pass? And am i?
If I am taking 80 mg of omeprazole daily and then prescribed omeclamox for 10 days should I continue with the omeprazole?
Too much Omeprazole: Yes you should stop it. To start with you are taking high dose of Omeprazole. 40mgm in 24 hours is the usual dose and now you are being treated with a multiple drug pack for H Pylori infection and it does contain omeprazole as well. I been taking 80 mg of omeprazole for 2 weeks. My stomach is hurting bad and feel sick. I stop taking 80 mg but will the sickness and hurting go away.
