Ppi dosing: The maximum doses of each ppi are equipotent in reducing acid. Going higher than these doses impart no greater benefit and should not be exceeded. Prilosec/omeprazole: 20 BID. Prevacid/lansoprazole:30 BID. Nexium/esomeprazole:40 bid. Protonix/pantoprazole: 40 bid.Aciphex/rabeprazole:20 bid.Zegerid 40 daily. And Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) 60 daily. Too much Omeprazole: Yes you should stop it. To start with you are taking high dose of Omeprazole. 40mgm in 24 hours is the usual dose and now you are being treated with a multiple drug pack for H Pylori infection and it does contain omeprazole as well. Your doctor should have explained to you that you stop omeprazole. We don't know if you are being treated by a Gastroenterologidt or not. I suggest you consult GI

I been taking 80 mg of omeprazole for 2 weeks. My stomach is hurting bad and feel sick. I stop taking 80 mg but will the sickness and hurting go away.

See your doctor: If you have not gotten better in two weeks you need to see your doctor you may have a more serious problem that is not made better with omeprazole.
