Depends: Normal heart rate is 60-100 bpm. Having said that, in healthy, fit and conditioned individuals a resting heart rate as low as 30-40 bpm can be seen because their heart is conditioned and at rest is not needing a lot of oxygen, so does not beat fast. Very early: A baby's heart rate barely becomes visible around 6 weeks. At 6 weeks and 1 day, the "flicker" may or may not be seen. I would suggest repeating the sonogram in 2 weeks to get a better image and confirm the heartbeat. In the meantime, don't dwell on the heart rate.
