Maybe: It depends on whether you are having frequent contractions or not. However, being 1cm and 80% really just means your cervix is becoming favorable for delivery. Nurses said I'm 80% effaced "very soft" but still only 2-3cm dilated (which I've been for a few weeks now.. why am I not dilating? What can I do to dilate?
36 weeks dr said i'm 3 CM & 80% effaced, at 37 wk appt different dr checked me, said loose 3 CM & 75% effaced. Can you reverse in progress with effacing?
Dont fret: Remember, one cm is only the width of your fingernail. Checking a cervix is a blind procedure and every person will sense the distance a little differently. Call your OB: To be evaluated to make sure nothing strange is going on and to make sure baby is ok, if you were my pt and you were ok i would offer to induce you at 39 weeks the ideal time to deliver for the baby is 39-40 weeks , if you had a problem with you or baby then u can induce before 39 weeks but there has to be a specific reason. ...Read more
