8 Weeks Pregnant No Heartbeat But Baby Is Growing
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and terrified of having a miscarriage. We seen the babies heart beat at 6w4d, heart rate was 125. Am I still at risk?
Depends: Hi! Is this your first pregnancy? If you have had a miscarriage in the past then you may be at risk... However if this is your first pregnancy and your OB/GYN says you are doing well, then you will most likely do well :) Unfortunately a miscarriage can happen at any point in pregnancy. I do believe that exercising will help with your overall well-being. So does yoga and meditation. ...Read more
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Doctor said baby looks fine heart beat is fine but why do I bleed only when I wipe I see brown blood very little comes nd then goes 8 weeks pregnant?
No: Cramping is very common early in pregnancy. Spotting occurs in a large number of patients in the first trimester. This does need to be evaluated by a doctor to make sure the pregnancy is inside the uterus and not an ectopic pregnancy. We also need to make sure it is not miscarriage. In many cases though spotting and cramping can just be normal. ...Read more
I am 8 weeks pregnant but ultrasound says 6 weeks... Heart beat also detected, it was 120....Is there any chances of m/c..... Help me...?
Relax - folic acid!: Erroneous pregnancy dates are very common in the setting you describe - trust the sonographic measurements more than your recollection of your last menstrual period, take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and maintain a positive attitude. Miscarriage is a risk for any early pregnancy - you are no different, however the detection of embryonic cardiac activity decreases your risk to ~10% only. Congratulations. ...Read more
Ok im 8 weeks pregnant and I went to the obgyn yesterday and when she checked me there was no heart beat what does this mean what should I do?
Baby's heart beat is not audible until the 9-10th week at the earliest, even with doppler. Usually it's heard around the 12-14th week.
Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly over 8 seconds - be calm.... ...Read more
I am approx 8 weeks pregnant. My last ultrasound didn't show much improvement in measurement of the fetus. There was no heart beat. Is it a bad preg?
Fetal Ultrasounds: This is difficult for this application to ask of us these sensitive questions. What did you OB say? I would trust the results of the ultrasound and the professionals on the ground working to help you. ...Read more
I'm 8 weeks pregnant but the doctor says that there is no heart beat and that I need to go by the abortion process, is there a way she's wrong?
Probably not: I am very sorry about your receiving this news. If you are not tremendously obese, it is relatively easy with ultrasound imaging (should be imaging not just blind Doppler listening) to determine that the heart isn't beating. Under those circumstances, it is safer to undergo a controlled abortion. Without that you will likely soon miscarry anyway. I am again very sorry. ...Read more

I am 12 weeks pregnant today and I went to ultrasound and the doctor said no heart beat and stop growing the baby I have scheduled D&C in Thursday?
Early fetal demise: You should have a heart beat by 7 1/2 weeks. If you're certain of your dates or had early confirmation of pregnancy then this does sound like fetal demise. If you feel uncertain and the fetus was under 7 weeks it certainly won't hurt to repeat your Ultrasound as a second opinion. I will tell you though that if your OB doesn't do termination like most of it, he is likely very careful diagnosis ...Read more
Pregnancy dating: A positive pregnancy test and a negative ultrasound, that is no fetal heart beat and no baby, means that the woman got pregnant later than she thought and the pregnancy just can't be detected with ultrasound, yet. A repeat ultrasound in two weeks will definitely show a pregnancy; if not, this was a "biochemical" pregnancy and unfortunately a miscarriage has to be anticipated. ...Read more
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and spotting. Dr. saw a heartbeat by ultrasound & said baby is fine. But it's now 3 days and still spotting. Is it normal?
Bleeding: Although bleeding in early pregnancy isn't normal you have had an ultrasound that shows the fetus is alive. There are causes of bleeding in pregnancy which don't lead to a miscarriage. With a miscarriage, the fetus dies first then you have bleeding, cramping, and tissue passage. It isn't the length of bleeding or the amount of bleeding which causes a miscarriage. ...Read more

Had heavy bleeding with lumps at 8 weeks pregnant. Sonar showed baby had heartbeat and fine. Now I have brown spotting that won't stop. Should I worr?
Probably ok: Brown spotting is old blood. It's a good sign that it's not bright red. If there was previously heavy bleeding, there was probably a small collection of blood somewhere that is now being released. If you feel fine otherwise, it's ok to watch for now. Be sure to mention it to your doctor at the next appointment. ...Read more
