Definition?: If by 2-3 weeks , you mean from the last period, the answer is no. If you mean 2-3 weeks after conception, the answer is maybe. Depends: Unless there are other problems, the standard approach is to do an early ultrasound to confirm the dating, due date, etc. And then another around 18 weeks (4-5 month) to look for birth defects. Other ultrasound are not necessary and don't improve outcome. ...Read more

Uterine issues: Pregnancy can coincide with fibroids, although, ultrasound normally is able to reveal pregnancy unless it is way early in the course. Doing serial pregnancy hormone measurements may help determine whether the pregnancy is viable.
