?

Breast or bottle?: During the day, rouse her gently after 2 1/2-3 hours. Engage her in gooing & cooing & putting her on her tummy to play. Have a consistent bedtime at night, read, rock & cuddle in low light. Wipe out her mouth after the last feed to establish the habit. Put her in her crib in her own room, on her back, drowsy but awake. She'll learn to self-calm to fall asleep & may sleep 6 hrs by 4-6 mos. ...Read more

My 4month old baby not sleeping through night. Ow can I put my child to sleep at night.

My 4month old baby not sleeping through night. Ow can I put my child to sleep at night.

Sleep consolidation : Is promoted by a consistent bedtime & routine, reading, soothing, wiping out baby's mouth after the last feed, then putting her to bed on her back in her own crib, drowsy but awake. Learning to self-calm to sleep now helps her do this when she night wakes & prevents "trained night crying" at 6 mos. Or >. My 7month old baby she sleeps 3 times during the day but its been a week she is sleeping late at nights how can i change her sleeping routine?

Naps and routine: I would try putting her for 2 naps a day (not 3), and the start an earlier routine and every day put her down to sleep 30 min earlier until you get to your goal bedtime (e.g. 7-8pm). Avoid late naps after 3pm. ...Read more

When can I expect my 1 month old daughter to sleep through the night? She still feeds pretty much every 3 hours which interrupts night time sleep

When can I expect my 1 month old daughter to sleep through the night? She still feeds pretty much every 3 hours which interrupts night time sleep

Baby Feedings: Sleeping through the night is a developmental milestone we don't expect until closer to 2 months. Feeding on demand (not on a schedule) is key to achieving a long sleep. Babies need to "cluster feed" (a meal marathon) before and after a long sleep (until their tummies get bigger). Once she's sleeping through, try putting her in her crib to learn to fall asleep on her own (on her back). ...Read more

Esophageal Reflux: Or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Occurs when lower esophageal sphincter is loose, doesn't close, stomach content comes up as vomiting. Make sure, when feeding, head 45 degree upright, a good seal while nursing, no gap, so that baby doesn't swallow air. Burp up halfway and after feeding, keep baby upright for 1/2 hour. If not better, anytime projectile vomit, poor wt. Gain, see doc asap. ...Read more

My one year old baby never sleep well .iam fed up with him. he is go to sleep very difficult and wake up during the night 6 or 8 time until morning .

Routine: Help him by having a routine - same time each night, quieting the house, limiting exposure to TV, possibly a bath and a bedtime story. Set up the expectation that sleep is what happens at that time. When your baby wakes, check in, but try not to pick him up. Keep the room darkened and quiet. Walk away. You need to sleep to be a good mother. He needs to quiet himself - not easy at first. ...Read more

Is it safe that my 8 months baby started sleeping 12 hours straight at night? Or shall i wake her up to feed? She doesn't eat much & is breastfed only

Depends: If she is thriving on this schedule, enjoy the change. I usually don't let them sleep more than 8-10hrs without a feed until they hit 10 lb, but if the kid is growing well and robust during the day, let her be. ...Read more

If a 2 month old baby sleeps through the night how much should he eat during the day?

If a 2 month old baby sleeps through the night how much should he eat during the day?

Whatever he wants: Normal, healthy, growing babies eat whatever amount they want to eat, night or day. Avoid feeding during the night, after age 3 months. If he stops eating at night before then, don't wake him up at night. Avoid counting how much is eaten. In nature, babies breastfeed, so the amount they eat is unknown, and not looked at. We calculate the amount eaten ONLY if a baby is sick or not growing right. ...Read more

14 month old baby boy.breast feeding he still wakes up multiple times at night and feeds.have never slept entire night wirh out disturbance. Reasons?

You trained him to: A 14 month old does not need to feed at night. He may eat less during the day and pattern a need at night, but only because you let him.He likely enjoys the nurturing during the period of separation anxiety normal to all at that age. Either continue indefinitely, or end night feeds. You may need to sleep in a chair nearby until he can accept a new pattern at night. ...Read more

Can a 6 month old baby have night terror? My baby has been crying in his sleep during the night, without opening the eyes, what can I do?

Can a 6 month old baby have night terror? My baby has been crying in his sleep during the night, without opening the eyes, what can I do?

Separation anxiety: Does your baby cry or show displeasure when she loses sight of you? Does she do the same thing when somebody else picks her up and sees you away from her? If you answered yes, she is starting to show separation anxiety which usually appears at this age. These episodes are repeated in her sleep and cause her to cry. Just do nothing and ignore her crying. She will grow out of it in about 6 months. ...Read more

Advance Solid Foods: Infants this age grow rapidly & require adequate nutrition. Solid foods are routinely introduced at age 6 mos. As infants advance w/ solids, breast feeding gradually becomes supplemental. Nighttime feedings are still fairly common at this age. If your baby is progressing well with solids, returns to sleep after night feed, has normal growth/development at doctor visits, then no action is needed. ...Read more

Can the 27 days old baby sleeps while hungry?

Baby: All babies are different. While at 27 days one would expect the child to awake every 4-5 hours for feeding this is not the rule. Some babies will sleep through the night. As long as the baby is gaining weight and growing at the expected rate then there is nothing to worry about. ...Read more

When traveling w/6 months old to country that is 9 hours ahead will it cause my baby sleep all day(now he sleeps all night)and be awake through night?

It may take a few: days for your baby (and you) to adjust to the time difference. Depending on when you are leaving, you may be able to help that transition, but adjusting his sleep schedule a little bit at a time before you go. Otherwise you can keep him as awake as you can during the daytime once you're there and hopefully move the schedule to be more accommodating to the new time. ...Read more

My 4 month old baby boy is very irritated, day and night. During night sleep he suddenly wakes up crying. Please help. Thank you.

Gut issues: Discuss this with your pediatrician. Things that cone to mind are #1 diet...If you are breastfeeding are you drinking milk or eating dairy (it is very irritating to the guts of infants). If you are formula feeding maybe he has a problem with it. Maybe he has reflux that wakes him at night. You will feel better if you are seen. ...Read more
