My seven year old girl hardly eats at all, and she wants to go to sleep at 5 pm. Could it be mono?
Subscience: The "ideal weights" and so forth are entertainment, not science. Even the body mass index was never intended by quetlet for individuals. A person's best weight is whatever looks and feels right to him/her while taking part effectively in the fitness activities that they enjoy. A 17 year old male sprinter is likely to be "undreweight", a massively-muscled linebacker "obese". Common sense. ...Read more

What is the painless way to find presence of any ulcer due to h-pylori infection for my 7 year old girl ? Thanks in advance.

Only endoscopy will determine if there is an ulcer, and then direct cultures can be taken as well. Often, symptoms are from esophagitis or gastritis from stomach acid and may respond to treatment with PPI meds. ...Read more

Humidity : Not sure where u live. Dry weather is the most common cause of bleeding nose apart from nose picking which can lead to bleeding. If this is true, use a humidifier at night in her bedroom. My 7 year old girl found h-pylori +ve in blood but -ve in stool is it necessary to go for endoscopy or go for only eradication?
Go invasive at last: Blood test for H pylori can remain positive for long time after the infection. Also, negative stool test can be falsely negative. The main criteria to go forward should be the ( persistence of) symptoms in your child and what treatment has been tried with what effect. I would repeat stool antigen, consider breath hydrogen test, and one proper full treatment before subjecting child to endoscopy etc ...Read more

7 year old girl, red spot on cheek, no itching, size of zit, has been present for 5 days and no changes. What could this be?
Umm, hard to say.: Skin rashes are most difficult to diagnose without actually examining them. Can you feel the spot? Is it crusted? Ever have it before? Since the area is now raising concern, perhaps it would be wise to have your pediatrician or dermatologist examine. Then specific treatment could be discussed with more accuracy. Pimples, especially if increasing in number, in 7-yr-old poses bothersome questions... ...Read more
