7 Month Old Baby Runny Nose
Could runny nose be due to her teething? And what remedies are safe to clear her out? I have a 7 month old baby who just cut her first two bottom teeth this week. In this time she has developed an extreme runny nose and congestion that seems to obstruct
Teething : Teething and the symptoms attributed to it are a common concern for parents. Lots of studies have looked at this and shown the most common symptoms of teething to be: -increased biting -drooling -gum-rubbing -sucking -irritability -wakefulness -ear rubbing -facial rash -decreased appetite for solid foods -slightly elevated temperature (but still under 100.4f orally) her runny nose and congestion are more likely due to a cold. There are no over the counter cough or cold medications that are safe to give any children under 4 years old. They were all removed from the shelves a few years ago. Research showed that they did not help kids feel better in that age group and in fact could be harmful. If your infant is congested, you can run a cool mist vaporizer in her room and use saline and nasal suction to clear her nose. Otherwise you just have to let it run it's course. If she develops a fever, has any difficulty breathing, stops eating/drinking, acts very irritable or sleepy or acts sick in any way, call your child's doctor. ...Read moreGet help now ›

Infancy Colds -: Fill all your bottles with 2 oz of pedialyte-equivalent. Offer one every half hour and allow the baby to refuse. Run a humidifier or vaporizer to add moisture to the air. Cancel any other plans and snuggle with good hand washing reminders for all care-givers. 7 months old baby with a bad runny nose how to get rid of that bc she can't breath bc of the snuffed and I gave her a few drops of motrin, hummifier in the room and vick rub. Any other idea? Please help. Its only been 2-3up days
Stop the rub: I consider the vick's rub an air pollutant when used in infants. It can prolong or worsen congestion. A liberal wash out of her nose with saline can remove some of the irritants & thin out the mucous. Sometimes you must wash out the nose using saline like a garden hose to be effective. ...Read moreGet help now ›

My infant is five months has a dry cough for a week and has a runny stuffy nose no fever should I take him to doctor is it a cold?
Cough: it is always hard to know when to take your baby to the doctor. If he is eating, drinking, pooping, peeing and acting otherwise well and having no fever then I would say no. If he has any trouble breathing, the cough becomes worse, he gets a fever, he becomes lethargic, dehydrated or you are just too worried then get him seen. Worried Mommas are always right. ...Read moreGet help now ›
