7 Month Old Baby Runny Nose
Could runny nose be due to her teething? And what remedies are safe to clear her out? I have a 7 month old baby who just cut her first two bottom teeth this week. In this time she has developed an extreme runny nose and congestion that seems to obstruct
Teething : Teething and the symptoms attributed to it are a common concern for parents. Lots of studies have looked at this and shown the most common symptoms of teething to be: -increased biting -drooling -gum-rubbing -sucking -irritability -wakefulness -ear rubbing -facial rash -decreased appetite for solid foods -slightly elevated temperature (but still under 100.4f orally) her runny nose and congestion are more likely due to a cold. There are no over the counter cough or cold medications that are safe to give any children under 4 years old. They were all removed from the shelves a few years ago. Research showed that they did not help kids feel better in that age group and in fact could be harmful. If your infant is congested, you can run a cool mist vaporizer in her room and use saline and nasal suction to clear her nose. Otherwise you just have to let it run it's course. If she develops a fever, has any difficulty breathing, stops eating/drinking, acts very irritable or sleepy or acts sick in any way, call your child's doctor. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›

My 7 Month old baby boy has a sore throat, cough, runny nose, he's grumpy, finds it hard to keep bottles down, any suggestions?
Infancy Colds -: Fill all your bottles with 2 oz of pedialyte-equivalent. Offer one every half hour and allow the baby to refuse. Run a humidifier or vaporizer to add moisture to the air. Cancel any other plans and snuggle with good hand washing reminders for all care-givers. Rest It's no fun to have an infant with what sounds like a viral infection, but ... they usually pass quickly with supportive measures ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
Dr told me my 5 month old baby has broncholitis he's had a cough for over 2 months with out runny nose or fever ventolin syrp did nothing what's next?
Bronchiolitis: Is caused by a virus and ventolin often does not help. Homeopathic remedy antimonium tartaricum can help a great deal. If he is having trouble eating and worsening of his breathing then take him to the emergency department. Occasionally infants have to be admitted...More in the newborn period. See a chinese medicine practitioner as well...I have great success with that! ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
My 5 month old baby has broncholitis and is on ventolin syrup he's had a cough for over a month with phlegm but has had no symptoms of runny nose why?
Cough in infant: Childhood wheezes or cough is common. Cough is a common presentation of asthma or inflammation of the airway. In infant, we don't have a good test to diagnose asthma. Instead, we make a diagnose based on your child's risks of developing asthma like immediate family history of asthma, other atopic diseases... When cough lasts that long, we often start an asthma controller treatment. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
Would you recommend any vapor products (vapor rub, plugs, bath, etc) for a 7 month old w a bad cold? My son has a low fever, cough, stuffy/runny nose
My 7 month old girl has been running a fever, green runny nose, coughing up mucus, extra cranky & not sleeping well. Teething or somethmelse?
My 7 month old had a runny nose for a day that went away 2 days ago. I have a sore throat and I believe she now has it too. How can I treat her?
Supportive Care : You are probably right, at this age, we want to be very careful about cold medicines as they cause mostly side effects with no benefit. If he seems to be in pain with his sore throat, try a dose of ibuprofen this should soothe it for 6 to 8 hours. If he is inconsolable and one hour after trying Motrin you are not seeing him perk up and give you a smile, then he needs to be seen by his doc. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
7 months old baby with a bad runny nose how to get rid of that bc she can't breath bc of the snuffed and I gave her a few drops of motrin, hummifier in the room and vick rub. Any other idea? Please help. Its only been 2-3up days
Stop the rub: I consider the vick's rub an air pollutant when used in infants. It can prolong or worsen congestion. A liberal wash out of her nose with saline can remove some of the irritants & thin out the mucous. Sometimes you must wash out the nose using saline like a garden hose to be effective. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
My 7mo old tested positive for flu and is on tamiflu. She only has a runny nose, fever and slight cough. Will her symptoms get worse?
They could...: Symptoms usually peak on day 3-4, and the cough can worsen and hang around for weeks. This may be decreased by the tamiflu. However, being so young she is at a significant increase risk for serious disease that could make her quite ill. Please everyone, get your flu shots today! ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
