ELEV. CREAT: Yes, a nephrologist is likely apropriate after blockage has been ruled out. It is difficult to tell wether your bladder is emptying at times if it is a slow process that is causing blockage. ...Read more

My height is 6'3" & weight is 100.3 kgs where as my creatinine level is 1.9, is it ok? If its not how to control it?

Seems a bit high,,: You are a big man, and your creatinine can be higher due to a large proportion of muscle mass in your body which is likely since you are large. It may also be higher from impaired renal function, and other lab readings, like BUN (blood urinary nitrogen), and sodium would indicate this, along with symptoms like edema or swelling in extremities. See your doctor for a complete work-up to be sure. ...Read more

Is 1.03 bad creatinine level?

Creatinine: Creatinine level depends on many things....Age, race, sex, muscle mass. For women, the usual creatinine is between 0.6 and 1mg/dl. For men, between 0.9 and 1.4mg/dl. As we age, the creatinine should lower slightly (less muscle mass). The number is important but so are the trends. Usually, I am not very concerned with a creatinine of 1 unless its someone very young or very small/frail. ...Read more

How to decrease creatinine levels?

How to decrease creatinine levels?

May not need to: Lab testing isn't "one size fits all." a lab may list 1.2 as the "upper limit of the reference range", but a muscular patient can and should have a higher level. When i was lifting daily, my creatinine stayed at 1.6, and an elite bodybuilder's is likely to 2.0 or so. The level itself doesn't make you sick; it's just one piece of information to tell whether there's kidney disease. ...Read more

Is a 2 creatinine level dangerous?

Is a 2 creatinine level dangerous?

Interpretation: Serum creatinine is affected by protein intake, gender, age, race, muscular build, and renal function. A rising creatinine is always of concern. "normal" on lab tests is generally less than 1.2 mg/dl. Renal function can be estimated with a more complex formula or measured with a 24 h urine collection. ...Read more

How can I reduce creatinine levels?

Treat the cause: High creatinine level is not a problem in and of itself. High creat does not cause a problem or symptoms. Rather, it is a sign that the kidney is slow eliminating waste (including creatinine waste). This slow function is due to a reason whether it is kidney tissue aging or disease or other reasons like blockage of kidney flow. If u decrease creat without improving kidneys, u still have a problem. ...Read more

How can I lower my creatinine level?

Care for kidneys: Today's "normal" creatinine / egfr levels for men often fail to take a well-muscled man's normals into account; if you're 1.6 or below (or even a bit higher if you're really strong), i wouldn't worry. If you're higher, limit salt intake, protein intake if your physician thinks helpful, control your atherosclerosis risk, stay fit to stave off any tendency to diabetes. Good luck. ...Read more

How often do creatinine levels change?

Change in creatine: Creatinine (c) can elevate acutely, in cases of low blood flow to the kidney, dehydration, obstruction to urine outflow and agents toxic to the kidney. When these issues are resolved, it can go down quickly as well. Renal diseases such as diabetes and glomerulonepritis (g) can elevate the c more slowly. Once the c is elevated in diabetes, it will not come down. If the g is treated, c can go down. ...Read more

What does a creatinine level of 1.1 mean?

Unclear: Serum creatinine is "normal" below 1.2 mg/dl for most labs. What it means for an individual depends on the gender, age, and weight. 1.1 for a man of average build in his 20's is likely normal. For a woman in her 80's, it is abnormal. ...Read more
