That is about right: During very early pregnancy, the hgc rises/doubles in about 48-72 hours. Say your is about 72 hours=3 days. 11000 doubles to 22000, then again doubles another 72hrs, thus =44000, with 5000 left for the 7th day; just an estimate. Just remember, everyone is different. Follow doc's advice. Congrats on the pregnancy and best of luck to you. ...Read more

While your physician may place you on Progesterone supplementation, there is no evidence that this decreases miscarriage risk. That being said, it can't hurt. If the fetal size is appropriate and the heart beat is normal, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Best of luck! ...Read more

I am 5 wks. Pregnant. My progesterone level is 11.9.My ob/gyn prescribed me crinone 8%.Is it effective in increasing my level? Is my level alarming?

Not alarming: 11.9 is at the lower edge of normal for 5 weeks gestational age. Crinone 8% is a recommended treatment for keeping Progesterone levels high in the first trimester in an attempt to prevent miscarriage due to inadequate Progesterone levels. It's usually continued for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. ...Read more
