According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

2 questions. I've been having these fluttering spasms under my right breast bone (rib cage area) not painful, just obnoxious... I'm also about 6 weeks pregnant, could this be some crazy symptom? Lastly, I was spotting a little yesterday it was brownish

I agree,: The fluttering sensations are probably just a crazy symptom, the spotting could come from implantation, although I typically see that around 8 - 9 weeks of gestation. You may want to refrain from heavy physical stress until the spotting has subsided. ...Read more

I'm pregnant and I lose my breath feeling like I wanna faint is it bad? I'm 6 weeks pregnant

OBs want to know NOW: I told my OB staff to notify me immediately if someone was faint or short of breath at any point in pregnancy. Then we would make a plan for the best way to get the patient seen for evaluation and, if needed, treatment. Such spells might be isolated or return. They might be due to something simple or complex. They might be related to pregnancy or not. It's difficult to know without exam. ...Read more

I have a small weight feeling in my chest with discomfort and slight breathing problem. No other symptoms. I’m also 6 weeks pregnant?

Pregnancy may: Cause your blood to clot, which can form in the legs and travel upwards into the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolus. These clots can cause the symptoms you described, including chest pressure, shortness of breath, weakness, and cyanosis (blue discoloration of the skin especially around orifices). Anemia may also cause similar symptoms. Go get checked out by a healthcare provider or hospital. ...Read more

Morning sickness: A.m. sickness varies in women as to length and severity. It is due to the hcg levels that rise in pregnancy. If you have had a significant difference in nausea then it could be that the levels have dropped which may mean an early miscarriage or it could just be that you are over the worst of it. ...Read more

Transvaginal US: A transvaginal ultrasound will determine, if your pregnancy is singleton or multiple, inside the uterus or outside (fallopian tubes) and whether there is a heart beat or not. I'm taking prenatal vitamin. I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Every time I'm taking the vitamin I'm feeling very nausea. What can I do?

I'm taking prenatal vitamin. I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Every time I'm taking the vitamin I'm feeling very nausea. What can I do?

Diff. One or type: The first thing I would do is make sure you take it after a meal if you are not already. If you are, try a different brand- one may be better tolerated than another- consider perfect prenatal by new chapter. If you still have trouble, the most important vitamin to take is folic acid. You can try to make sure you get plenty via diet ;/or try a sublingual b complex or Folic Acid tablet. See comment:. ...Read more

Had tubes cut tied burt and feeling flutter going on 2nd month no peroid what going on help doc said wouldn't get pregnant again so please help so I know what to do

Even: Even though there is a 1% chance of pregnancy after having your tubes tied, there are more likely causes depending on your age and other symptoms. Even if you were pregnant, most women do not feel any fetal movement until they are 4-5 months pregnant, so the "flutter" you feel is likely something else. Reasons for a missed period besides pregnancy are stress, poor diet, extreme exercise, weight loss, hormone imbalance such as with thyroid disorders or polycystic ovarian syndrome and even peri-menopause if you are older. You should take a pregnancy test just to be certain you are not pregnant. If you are still not sure why your period has become irregular, you should give your ob/gyn doctor a call. Good luck! ...Read more

I have stopped the mini pill and now on a period but feeling flutters in my belly but all 5 pregnancy test say negative please help what's the flutter?

Likely intestinal: That can be tough. It is likely your intestines. Some people feel and notice more from physical sensations than others; if stress level is high, not sleeping well, etc, one notices normal stimuli and registers it as abnormal. Not saying this is your situation; try MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to be more regular but these sensations are not unusual. ...Read more

Once a month I get a feeling of flutter in stomach and fullness in vagina, not pregnant, 7 months pp c section, irregular bleeding as breast feeding?

Not sure: Fluttering is usually either intestinal movements or a baby moving. If you are sure you're not preg.. . I'm thinking it's your bowels. The fact that it's once a month is confusing, esp if you're not ovulating regularly. But ovulation can cause a feeling of fullness. Your vagina may feel different while breast feeding due to lack of estrogen. I would give it time, see what happens after weaning. ...Read more

I have an IUD how possible is it to be pregnant? I am feeling lots of flutters but just had a period

I have an IUD how possible is it to be pregnant? I am feeling lots of flutters but just had a period

Unlikely: Unlikely but not impossible; all contraceptive methods can fail. If the iud is securely in place (they can slip or migrate) the chance of pregnancy is very low, iud has one of the lowest failure rates for reversible contraception. If you just had a reliable menstrual period, pregnancy is also unlikely. A pregnancy test is still the only reliable way to know. ...Read more
