I am running daily 27 minutes on treadmill @ speed of 5.5 km per hr. Will it be helpfull for me ?

Yes.: That sounds like it should be fine. Check your heart rate during exercise - your should be about 160 for maximal cardiovascular benefit. If it's higher than that, but not higher than 180, then great. If it's lower than that, you may need to up your pace a bit. Any cardiovascular exercise will be beneficial for weight maintenance and health. ...Read more

Calories every day and exercising 4 times a week (burning 400 - 450 calories). Will i maintain weight?

You need enough: Calories to maintain your metabolic rate. Calculate your weight in pounds and multiply by 10 to determine your baseline. Then add the activity amount of calorie burning each day, 10% for minimal activity and more for vigorous activity (at least 30%). It appears you are able to determine your activity caloric burning so add that amount to your baseline on those days. Adjust based on loss/gain. ...Read more

Needs monitoring: Your BP needs close monitoring as we need multiple reading, taken at rest, before we can know your true BP. If the next 2-3 readings show your BP to be at 140/90 or more, then you would be labelled as hypertensive. If the BP is below this level then you should recheck it again every 3-6 months for one year before you will be certain whether your BP requires medical treatment of not. ...Read more

Keep watching growth: 0.5 inch growth in 6 months (or so) is certainly within normal limits, but it is important to continue follow-up to see what trajectory is (measurement is difficult in this age child, so take several measurements and average them to get a more accurate number). ...Read more

Which type of walking reduce body fat fast ? Slow walking to 1hr or speed walking to1/2hr (eg; 3.0 speed at treadmill to 1hr or 5.4 speed to 1/2hr)

Which type of walking reduce body fat fast ? Slow walking to 1hr or speed walking to1/2hr (eg; 3.0 speed at treadmill to 1hr or 5.4 speed to 1/2hr)

Weight loss: It is not about the type of walking but rather the calories burned. Using your example you will have walked 3 miles in one hour slow walking and 2.7 miles in a 1/2 hour fast walking. Because you went farther slow walking you would have burned more calories and therefore, lost more weight from the longer walk. ...Read more

Marathon training. 10 miles saturday - no pain. On monday, pain on both sides of my left knee on stairs and treadmill. Didn't run yesterday. Causes?

Strain???: Hard to say if this is an injury that was waiting to show up, and the 10 mile run finally put you over the edge. Hard to say- your shoes, running form, hills vs flat, etc. Rest and get back to slow running with less distance. If it continues, see an orthopedic Dr. ...Read more

Glucose numbers of, 8 hrs fasting 4.5, 12 hrs 5.8, 14 hrs 6.5. 1 hour after eating 6.3. 2 hrs 5.8. Are these normal fluctuations? Thanks

Glucose numbers of, 8 hrs fasting 4.5, 12 hrs 5.8, 14 hrs 6.5. 1 hour after eating 6.3. 2 hrs 5.8. Are these normal fluctuations?
Thanks

High fasting: A normal fasting glucose in mmol/l is under 5.6. Diabetes is over 6.9, and prediabetes is anything in between. So 2 out of the 3 fasting sugars are in the prediabetes range. The 1 hr readings are normal. Other signs of prediabetes would be elevated triglycerides, low levels of HDL cholesterol, hypertension, and obesity. A hba1c level would also be helpful to know. ...Read more

I exercise 50-90 minutes a day, eat clean food, never exceed 1600 calories and I cannot stop gaining weight. (174 cm; 64 kg). It is slow, but constant?

Something amiss: Based on your age, gender, weight and height your basal metabolic rate is around 1400 cal/day: thats what you need just to live without moving at all! Odds are you burn more than 200 cal just moving about, without including your exercise. So either something awry with you metabolism and/or your estimated caloric intake. You should review this with your doc. ...Read more
