As long as you have it evaluated, psa testing, manual examination and these are ok and you have tolerable symptoms: night urination, urgency, frequency - all not too bad, then you can live with it. Is 4l an average volume to be extracted via thoracentesis for a 55 year old male w/ CKD and walking pneumonia?

Is 4l an average volume to be extracted via thoracentesis for a 55 year old male w/ CKD and walking pneumonia?

Seems a lot: Do you have evidence of volume overload elsewhere? Such as lower extremity swelling, fluid accumulation in the abdomen. I worry about congestive heart failure. Pleural effusions (fluid outside the lungs in the chest) are commonbut 4 liters seems excessive. Usually walking pneumonia does not have effusions. Bacterial pneumonia is more commonly associated. Make surer the fld was sent for study. ...Read more

Can i heart murmur go from a grade 1 to a grade 5 or 6? I'm a 18 year old female was first diagnosed with a innocent heart murmur at 14 months of age.

Yes: I would argue that a 5-6 won't be innocent. Innocent murmurs are more common than pathological ones. Yours may not have been innocent but been mild disease, like a mildly narrowed (stenotic) valve. It could slowly progress and the murmur would become louder or harsher over time. If its a 5, you should probably have an echocardiogram. ...Read more
