Doubtful : Pain that is symmetric suggests other causes especially when only involving the feet. Possibilities include poor circulation, neuropathy (abnormal nerve function from diabetes, medicines, chemical exposures). Peripheral nerve entrapment (like carpal tunnel in the wrist) can also occur. Spinal problems possible, but less likely in my judgement. ...Read more

An irritation.: Pain on both sides would not be shingles, but can be a chronic irritation of the joints of the ribs at the spine in the back; the affected nerves travel around to the abdomen. So pain can travel around both sides and feel like what you have. In my pratice i see htis frequently. An MRI is ot useful. You would do well to find a physical therapist who specializes in musculoskeletal issues. ...Read more
