The 6-9mo may be experiancing separation anxiety & fear you are gone forever- if they are awake when you check & settle when they see you, it fits. Varies: Awake it can be anywhere from 20-30 breaths per minute. Asleep may reduce somewhat. Key is does your child seem in distress during the sleep cycle and breathing pattern? If overweight or abnormally loud snoring/breathing patterns see your MD to see if an issue exits.
