I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Transvaginal ultrasound says no yolk sac and no fetal heartbeat. Is the baby still alive?
Unlikely: At 7 weeks gestation (7 weeks after the last menstrual period), a gestational sac, a yolk sac, an embryo and fetal heartbeat should be seen. It is unlikely that the baby is alive. However, a short-term follow up ultrasound can provide a definitive answer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hcg 70, 672, 3796 test are 5 days apart u/s says subchronic hemerage i'm bout 5wks w gest sac no yolk sac is that norm should I be worried?
Labs vs ultrasound: The lab result pattern suggests positive pregnancy and the rate of rise is reassuring. The ultrasound picture is a bit concerning, but could possibly be a technical/angle issue of the image take/done by the tech thus not seeing the yoke sack well. I would suggest following up with your doc for a repeat. I would be surprised if you haven't been told to get a repeat ultrasound soon. Good luck. ...Read more

Repeat sono in 1week: Under 6 weeks, this is considered normal, however to determine whether the pregnancy is truly viable ,a heart rate needs to be visualized by transvaginal sonogram. In addition, blood work (beta HcG) should be appropriately rising. A repeat sonogram within a week should confirm everything is ok. Congrats ahead of time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Early Pregnancy & US: The important thing is to know when you ovulated. You really can't know at this point. You may actually be further along and this absence of the fetal pole indicates an abnormal pregnancy or simply you are too early. Without knowing the day of ovulation, you must simply repeat the US in about a week. By then, fetal pole and heart beat should be evident. ...Read more

I will sometimes have a woman get another ultrasound in 5-7 days to see if the gestational sac is larger. ...Read more
