Check with your doc: While it may not be anything serious your best bet is to speak with your OB/GYN doctor and let them know what's happening. They may want to run some tests and make sure you don't have something like a urinary tract infection or that there may be something else going on but they should be aware of.

I am 4weeks and five day pregnant have back pain and cramping is this normal I am also 38 years old.?

I am 4weeks and five day pregnant have back pain and cramping is this normal I am also 38 years old.?

Difficult to say: Cramping and even a little spotting can be normal in early pregnancy especially around the time of your missed period. If you start having bleeding resembling a heavy period, go see your family doctor or your OB/Gyn, as this could be a sign of a miscarriage or a misplaced (ectopic) pregnancy. If the pain is becoming intense get seen quickly (i.e. ER) as an ectopic pregnancy can be life threatening

Is lower back pain a normal sign of early pregnancy? I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant.

Back pain: Yes. Rapid hormonal changes cause the ligaments and tendons of the lower back to relax and can lead to pain. Core muscle exercises will strengthen stomach and back muscles to help reduce the back pain. Discuss with your obstetrician the best options for treatment of the back pain.
