Could be labor: If this is happening off and on every 3-5 mins, it could be labor! call your OB or go to the hospital. If it it is less frequent, it could still be early labor or it could be braxton-hicks contractions, false labor, dehydration, uti, or even just plain "growing pains". Perhaps not pregnant: Hi, it's unusual to be showing at 5 weeks. Did you do a home pregnancy test? Did you repeat it about 7 days later? Hpreg.T sometime show false positive. You should seek help from your health card provider. She can test you for pregnancy and for other causes of belly swelling. Please be proud of your pregnancy and don't be shy. Back to GP: Sometimes it takes a while for the belly button area to close after the umbilical stump has fallen off. Sometimes a health care provider can chemically treat the area in the office to promote healing. If the area has a foul odor then this may be a sign of infection. Maybe: Measuring larger than dates can be a sign of an issue such as growing a large baby or extra fluid around the baby. More likely the baby is just fine. An ultrasound to the check the baby and fluid will tell you if there is an issue or not. ...Read more
