My 9 week old baby is formula fed on s26 original and has 120mls but constently throws up after every bottle and inbetween feeds till the point I'm changing outfits 4-6 times a day and also seems to won't to feed an hour earlier then he's due?
? Over fed: And possibly reflux, common at this age, reduce the amount initially to 60 ml, add rice cereal to thicken the feeds, use other reflux precautions, feed him at a 30 degrees, raise the head of the bed, etc, still feed him ad lib, (whenever he wants to be fed) if that doesn't work in a day or two, see his Pediatrician for evaluation, earlier if any other problem, wish you both wellness ...Read more
My 5 wk old vomits (not projectile)and spits up at least 3 or so times every feed. He's kept upright, burp him often. Will switching formula help?
Usually physiologic: Not uncommon for spitting up to occur in infants. If vomiting occurs several hours after eating then usually problem with slow gastric emptying. If infant gaining weight and not having airway or lung problems usually physiologic. If infant stops eating or loses weight than an issue. With maturity usually reflux or vomiting lessens. My month old baby keeps throwing up after every feeding. What could be wrong? Breastfeed during the day, 2 bottles of 2oz newborn formula at night.
Esophageal Reflux: Or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Occurs when lower esophageal sphincter is loose, doesn't close, stomach content comes up as vomiting. Make sure, when feeding, head 45 degree upright, a good seal while nursing, no gap, so that baby doesn't swallow air. Burp up halfway and after feeding, keep baby upright for 1/2 hour. If not better, anytime projectile vomit, poor wt. Gain, see doc asap. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Help 5 week old keep waking up every hour. Diaper clean, not crying, I feed her fall asleep on my breast once she's done. I put her down n wakes up 1h?
1yr old has thrown up 1 time before bed for past 2 nights.I do put her down w/ a bottle and she has started milk &stage 3 formula. Too full? Or sick?
Vomiting: I am unsure of the cause of the vomiting but babies should not be put to bed with a bottle. This often leads to bottle caries which causes bad decay to her teeth. She may have gastroesophagel reflux which may be worse when lying down. Give the bottle before bed and clean off her teeth. Follow up with her doctor. All the best. My 6 month old breast fed baby only drinks 5 ounces per bottle. She bottle feeds twice while I work for 8 hours. She is 18 pounds. She was born 8.5 oz?
By weight is fine: She is likely getting much more when nursing directly from the breast. While you might expect her take more from the bottle at this size, she may prefer the breast and baby foods (presuming she's being fed some). As long as she's wetting aces diapers in that 8 hrs, is happy after feeds , don't worry. Offer a cup with water, too- it's time to start learning. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My 10 week old daughter is exclusively formula fed. She still spits up a lot, and for a while after each feeding. How can I help her out?
Burp, upright: New babies, like 10 week old, spit alot. The valves that close their stomachs are not well developed, and they are also on liquid diets and eat frequently. Feed slowly, burp frequently and keep upright after feeds. There are special anti-reflux formulas that "thicken" the feeding, or alternatively, some docs like the parents to use cereal to thicken the feed. Talk to your ped! congrats on baby! ...Read more

5 month old baby keeps throwing up a lot throughout the day. More so after feeding him formula. No matter what I do always throws up?
Why does my 5 month old wake up every hour at night while she used to sleep close to 4 hrs then wake up to feed.. She is breast fed..
Lots of reason: If baby is used to falling asleep with the breast or any feeding for that matter, then he/she is looking for it when awaken. Usually babies will have a few awake/drowsy states if they hear or see anything, they become more alert. IF you feed to sleep or rock to sleep then baby is looking for that. Try to change your routine to feeding, changing then bedtime. Put baby down to sleep while drowsy ...Read more

Breast/bottle : This is not unusual. You may find that she will take the bottle more readily from someone else than from you. Can my 5 mo old baby eat food and drink water? Sometimes i'm worried about her feeding, she is on formula 4/5 oz every 3 hours
Sounds normal: Studies show that breast milk or formula alone supplies balanced nutrition for the first year +. Most early solid feeding pressure comes from the days babies were fed home made blends of boiled cow milk/karo & vitamins. At the time early supplements made sense, now they are overdone.Starting should focus on training baby to sit up & eat in preparation for his/her position at the table. ...Read more
