Can you please tell me what are the effects on the body of relying only on two monster energy drinks and 3 5-hour energy drinks for a 12 hour period?

Well...: Hmmm... this would be quite a bit of stimulants to the body caffeine and others in a 24 hour period. Typical effects might be heart palpitations, fast heart rate, tremulousness, anxiety, possibly headache, and a general crappy feeling... I am 32 years old, active and healthy but today when I drank a monster energy drink I instantly got chest pain and have had it for a few hours. Should I go to the er?

I vote YES: It's hard to tell what is causing the chest pain (may or may not be the heart). One's own doctor, if available, can offer advice and may want to do an EKG to see how the heart is doing (presuming the pain is mild). If no personal doctor is available, then the ER would be a place to go. If the chest pain is moderate or severe, calling 911 right away would be wise (in case there is heart problem) ...Read more

How many Monster Energy Drinks (caffeine 166 mg) (taurine 2000 mg) (vitamin B12 590%) (vitamin B6 220%) in a 8 hour period is considered dangerous?

How many Monster Energy Drinks (caffeine 166 mg) (taurine 2000 mg) (vitamin B12 590%) (vitamin B6 220%) in a 8 hour period is considered dangerous?

Two would be tops: for the whole day. Up to 400 milligrams (mg) of caffeine a day appears to be safe for most healthy adults. That's roughly the amount of caffeine in four cups of brewed coffee, 10 cans of cola or two "energy shot" drinks. Although caffeine use may be safe for adults, it's not a good idea for children. ...Read more

How do Monster energy drinks affect your health?

How do Monster energy drinks affect your health?

Caffeine & sugar: An 8 oz. can of Monster energy drink has 27 grams of sugar and 80 mg of caffeine plus 180 mg of salt (sodium). While it may have traces of B vitamins and ginseng, I'd go with an one iced coffee (about 80 mg caffeine) sugar free if you really need the jolt. Diabetics should avoid. ...Read more

Can you tell me if monster energy drinks can be deadly for you?

Can you tell me if monster energy drinks can be deadly for you?

A handful of deaths: have been reported, but in none of the cases so far was it really a slam-dunk kind of proof. It has mostly been in younger people using higher doses (3-4 bottles of 5 hour energy), and many of them had underlying heart disease. Caffeine IS a stimulant, and while not as potent as amphetamine etc., in high doses it does the same things.Other stuff in it likely harmless, but unknown safety really. ...Read more

Do you sleep nights?: In general, it's not a good idea. Large amounts of caffeine impair sleep, cause anxiety, even tremor and can precipitate panic attacks. Is drinking monster energy once every 2-3 weeks good for you or will it cause any harm to my body ?

Energy drinks: Energy drinks have no nutritional value - meaning they're empty calories. However, there's no evidence i know of that says having one every 2-3 weeks will cause significant or lasting harm to the body. Only risk is that every 2-3 weeks becomes every 1-2 weeks, then that becomes a few times a week, then boom... You're hooked on caffeine. ...Read more

I've been drinking monster energy. For about 6 months 1 per day . Now i'm trying to quit, but i'm suffering bad headaches. What can I do?

Caffeine withdrawal: Energy drinks contain stimulants such as caffeine, which is well known to induce headaches upon withdrawal. You may avoid headaches by reducing gradually. For example, reducing from one drink to a half drink per day could be a first step. Then after several days, cut back to a quarter of one drink, then finally quit. If headaches happen, increase the amount a bit, and stay longer at each step. ...Read more
