Take a pregnancy: Test to know. Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems. #1 reason is pregnancy.

See gynecologist: Unfortunately the answer to your question is not very simple and you should have a formal consultation with a gynecologist, because we need more information about the quality of your periods, your weight, and other symptoms you may have had. You are getting to an age where we begin to worry about tumors like fibroids and cancers. When was your last check up?

Brown Spotting: Is usually old blood being cleaned out of the uterus. If you have missed your period for three months - recommend gynecological evaluation. Take care.

Premenopause.: Anovulatory cycles for 14 months with anopposed estrogen thickened the thickness of the endometrium. When finally when you had your period it is heavy because of the thickened endometrium. See a gynecologist who can stop your bleeding with hormonal manipulations or other means.

I am 21 years old and no period in over 17 months! Should I be worried? Not on birth control.

If you were: Previously regular but now have no period x 17 months this warrants gyencological evaluation. Take care.

Usually: Amenorrhea just means the absence of a menstrual period. This can be due to anovulation. If you have enough estrogen around, you will usually have a period after the progestin love drops, i.e. after finishing provera (medroxyprogesterone). If you don't have a period after Provera, (medroxyprogesterone) that can mean that you don't have enough estrogen to grow a uterine lining to slough off. At 47, this is most often due to menopause.

My daughter is 14 years old, she had her period July 6, now is August 4 and no period yet, what could it be?

Normal: It is very common for girls in early teens to have irregular periods. However, sometimes young teens have sex, so if this might be the case, a pregnancy test would be in order.

Uncertain: Reasons for missed / late period include: an anovulatory cycle in which no egg is released, marked v or ^ in weight; eating disorder; Over-exercising (endurance athletics), stress, travel, significant illnesses, oral contraceptives & other meds, Illegal drug use, breast feeding, hormone imbalances and medical problems (i.e., PCOS). Pregnancy is #1 reason. If this goes another cycle - get eval.

See a doctor: If you have not been dieting and have lost 20 lbs in 2 months something is very wrong. Go see a doctor asap and get this worked out. Good luck.

Hi, im 17 years old and yesterday I started cramping but I had no period my doctor said I have hormone imbalence but I don't know what's wrong.

Probably Normal: At 17 y/o menstrual periods can be irreg at times & a missed period with cramping completely nl. Of course if you are sexually active you need a preg test. If this is a pattern & becomes recurrent, especially if you are overweight and/or have blood sugar problems than you might want this evaluated by and endocrinologist or Gyn. But you are likely to have a nl period next month. Don't Worry!
