4 Mg Alprazolam
Taking 4 mg alprazolam for 10 years. I have a elevated liver count and drs. Are attempting to diagnose. Wonder how long it will take to be out of body?
Alprazolam: Please do not stop Alprazolam suddenly. It is a habituating drug and you will experience withdrawal -- possibly including seizures. You have been on a relatively high dose for a long time, and tapering over time will be necessary. Please work with your physicians on this, rather than trying to get it out of your body by stopping it yourself. Best wishes. ...Read more
Alprazolam is a short acting benzodiazepine, it does not last long in the system . So when used regularly with multiple doses to treat anxiety, it is associated with inter-dose withdrawal, tolerance and a resulting increase level of baseline anxiety. So in anxiety clinics, we use it only in cases of " flight , dentist or other infrequent anxieties, ...Read more
I took 4 mg Xanax (alprazolam) prescribed , but I'm like really sick and have a fever was wondering if I can take NyQuil to help with the fever and sickness?
Large dose: the largest alprazolam (xanax) tablet is 2 mg, and that is already a high dose, so I don't know exactly what you are taking, or why it was prescribed. Xanax is generally given initially as 0.5 or even 0.25 mg three or four times daily, and a common dose might be 1 mg three times a day. NyQuill is meant for cough, and to treat fever aspirin, acetaminophen or motrin works best & is ok with xanax. ...Read more
Not usually toxic: A one time dose at that level is not usually toxic, unless there are other factors involved (other meds, prior liver disease, etc.). It might be very sedating, especially if combined with other drugs or alcohol, or if the person taking it isn't used to Xanax, (alprazolam) because that is a high dose, generally. This could be dangerous. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have been taking 1 mg alprazolam 4 times a day since the mid 1980s. My insurance company tells me it is no longer in their formulary. What options?
Check formulary: Unfortunately there is no way for us to know what medications will be covered on your insurance with the provided information. The best option is to check with your insurer to find out the formulary alternatives. Then the medication can be changed. Be aware though that other medications may have different effects so adjustments may need to be made. ...Read more
too low a dose?: Xanax (alprazolam) usually begins to work within an hour or so, so i'm not sure. Perhaps you take antacids or some other medicine that slows absorption. I suggest you consult with your treating physician to get a specific answer for you specifically. It could also be you need a dose adjustment. ...Read more
I have been sober for four months. I took 2mg of Xanax (alprazolam) on saturday night about 8pm, and have a UA wednesday at 6pm. Will this show? I am 5'7 160lbs
Maybe: it dependsThe half life of alprazolam is ab..out 28 hours. 5 days later it may be almost all gone, but not quite. If you are overweight or of Asian descent, the half life is about a third longer; then it will most probably show on a Urine Drug Screen. The sensitivity and reliability of the test is also a question; it can vary widely. Sober is not correct. Alprazolam is considered a sedative... ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can i take my hydrocodone for my tooth ache after I have took my one miligram Xanax (alprazolam) four hours earlier I have a tooth that has a cavity
Central : Central nervous system and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Did your dentist prescibe your pain medication for you? Is your toothache following a dental procedure, or are you self medicating without being treated? Consult with the doctor who wrote this prescription. If your toothache has not been evaluated by a dentist, then i suggest you see a dentist to treat your problem. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Hi I'm prescribed four 2mg Xanax a day and I just got a new job opportunity. Id like to keep my anxiety disorder discret b/c I'm afraid it could keep me from getting the job. If I stop taking them now will it show up in urine test in 5 days and also does
Taper: Your 2 mg per day would require informed tapering, to avoid withdrawal. And your anxiety symptoms will also return. Your best bet is to continue your prescribed medication, and if it shows up in a test, to simply establish that it is a prescribed medication. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
