If I was to take penicillin every 4 hours 4 times a day, Is 11am > 3pm > 7pm > 11pm a reasonable schedule? As in is 11pm > 11am ok to not take doses?
Penicillin half-life: The 'half-life' of a medicine is how long it will stay in the system. Penicillin has a very short half-life. If a medicine is prescribed 4x a day, ideally u take it every 6 hours, since the clearance of the medicine out of ur system will occur by then & it needs to be redosed. The way you've outlined it is 'wrong' since u don't get any medicine overnight. Try another schedule as close to every 6hr ...Read more
I work 3pm to 11pm and cannot get to sleep by 2am. It is getting later and later, some nights 5am. How can I break this pattern?
Sleep hygiene.: You need to get back on a schedule for sleep. To reset your sleep clock, go to bed at the same time every night, awaken at the same time every morning, don't nap during the day, use the bed for sleeping (not eating, TV watching, reading, etc), if you awaken during the night, stay in bed until your determined awakening time. Shoot for 6 to 9 hours of sleep nightly. ...Read more

I usually take my symbicort inhaler at twice 3pm and then 3am. Missed it today and took it at 7pm. Do I have to take it at 7am now?
Not necessarily...: ...however, why were you told to wake up at 3am? If it is because you are night shift worker, then I understand. But if not, you may consider rotating to a more tolerable schedule, such as 7am and 7pm. But if you want to remain 3pm and 3am, you do not have to wait until 7. Taking Symbicort again within 8 hours won't hurt if done this one time. ...Read more

If I took a tramadol 100 mg at 3pm today if pain not better could I take hydrocodone 10mg at 11pm!!! Been hurting really bad today!!! ?
Yes, you can, but: Combining the 2 defeats the purpose of each drug's usage. Tramadol is a rather unique analgesic drug that is indicated for moderate to moderately severe pain. Although it binds to mu receptors, tramadol is not technically classified as an opioid analgesic. Hydrocodone is a Schedule II opiate, and as such has many side effects that Tramadol doesn't. Adjust your medication with your physician. ...Read more
