-3.0 in both eyes. Using contacts. Can read fine without glasses. Considering whether lasik or lasek, or other surgical correction?

Epi-LASIK: I have done over 10000 lasik cases and over 1000 prk cases. A documented, peer-reviewed study was published in 2011 showing that the lasik flap never fully heals. The consequence of this is if any lasik patient ever gets hit in the eye just right (just wrong) and the flap comes loose, there is a very brief window to get it repositioned or you'll need a corneal transplant. Insist on epi-lasik! ...Read more

44 Female. Causes of intermittent stabbing eyeball pain without any change in vision . Eyes not red, etc. Sometimes also burn. Dry eyes?

Sounds like Dry eyes: Dry eyes are an often the culprit of many symptoms in the eye which can include burning, stinging, tearing, foreign body sensation, tiredness, heaviness, blurred vision and eye pain. You can have some or all of the symptoms or even none of the symptoms and have dry eye. I would suggest starting with using over-the-counter artificial tears and a warm compress on the eye to see if that helps. ...Read more

Inflammation: Conjunctivitis is inflammation of the conjunctiva (covering on the white part of the eye). Keratitis is inflammation of the cornea (clear layer in front of the iris).
