See below: If you had sex since your last period, you may repeat the pregnancy test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. It would be better to get a blood test for HCG. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. Term pregnancy: At that point, the pregnancy is full term and will be "stillborn." A sad situation and I feel for her. She will likely have her labor induced and deliver vaginally if possible. 35 years old- 20 weeks pregnant and have gained 20lbs so far. Is that too much? No energy to exercise but eat relatively healthy. Occasional ice cream

Depends: My recommendation for weight gain in pregnancy depends on your starting weight. If you had a pre-pregnancy BMI less than 20, then I would be happy to see you gain 20 lbs so far. Otherwise, yes you are gaining a little faster than ideal. The risks of excessive weight gain include preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, child with large birth weight, and cesarean section. ...Read more

6 weeks pregnant... Missed one day of prenatal pills. I'm so tired and have no energy... Not taking the prenatal the reason to feel this way ?

Unlikely to be pbm: The prenatal vitamins are a way to assure that your body is not depleted of minerals and vitamins needed to build a healthy baby, causing you to suffer long term health consequences. A single day missed has little if any effect on your overall health or babies. Most feel depleted at this point because your body is running a marathon of change. It needs more rest and a balanced diet. ...Read more

I have unbearable back pain, cramps, a headache that is making me dizzy & no energy. I'm pregnant. Are these normal symptoms?

Hi. : Hi. Don't know how far along you are in your pregnancy. Have you had any blood pressure problems or protein in your urine during your pregnancy? If you are early in your pregnancy, headaches, mild cramping and lack of energy can be normal. However, unbearable back pain and cramps are not. If you are in the first 8 weeks of pregnancy and you develop severe weakness and dizziness with low blood pressure (or possibly vaginal spotting / bleeding) then you should be evaluated at the emergency room. If you are at any stage of your pregnancy and you have burning with urination, you could have a urinary tract infection. This can become quite serious in pregnancy, especially if the infection travels up to the kidney. If you are over 20 weeks along and you have a severe headache and pain with a sudden increase in your weight or swelling of your hands (a lot more swelling than normal for your feet)or your face especially if you have nausea or vomiting, visual changes or you are urinating less, you should be evaluated at the emergency room. Regardless, your severe back and abdominal cramping with a bad headache, need to be checked out. I recommend that you be evaluated at the emergency room to rule out any serious causes for your symptoms. If you are feeling too ill, you may need to call 911 to be transported by ambulance. ...Read more
