Not often but can be: Osteotomies around the knee change the alignment of the limb to unload diseased portions of the knee joint. Changing the alignment at the knee changes the loading of the hip too. If a portion of the hip joint cartilage is now overloaded, that is one way you could have hip pain. Referred pain from the knee might cause hip pain, though a hip problem causing knee pain is more common. ...Read more
