Hard to know: Losing the mucus plug at 37 weeks does not predict when a woman will go into labor. Many woman have irregular contractions for days before going into labor. When a woman goes into labor her contractions get stronger and closer together. When they are every few minutes and you can't walk or talk through them - that's likely labor! ...Read more

Possible labor: If you are having those "cramps" or better say contractions very frequently( especially every 5-10 mins) it is time to get checked for progression. We cannot determine with certainty exactly at what point you will be in active labor since this varies from person to person. Soon...maybe: Usually within 2 days is what we're taught... After doing this for over 20 years, i've learned that the wait can be much longer. If it's truly a mucous plug from cervical change & with increasing contractions; you may deliver within the week. But, remember, your baby hasn't read the same books & will come when it's ready! ;). ...Read more

Call the service: It is important that you communicate openly any change of status as you approach delivery. If you call the ob's service/office they can discuss any symptoms you are having & whether you need to come in for baby monitoring or just rest at home. I am 37 weeks and am dilated 1cm & 80% effaced. I am having constant pain in my lower back & pelvic pressure. Will I go into labor soon?

Pregnancy: These are signs that the baby is probably making its way down. But lower back pain and pelvic pressure are common symptoms in third trimester.
