37 Weeks Pregnant And 3 Cm Dilated
37 wks pregnant, AF index 8, placenta grade 3, fetal lungs mature, weight 3 kg, cephalic, head 4/5 in pelvis. Cervix 0.5 cm open. When to expect labor?
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Pelvis softens: As your body prepares to deliver your baby your pelvic bones prepare to open some. Women begin to waddle, others have difficulties such as you are having. It is getting close. ...Read more
Possibly: Discuss it with your doctor.Get a more detailed answer ›
Have a conversation: Patients and doctors need to have a conversation about goals of what is to be accomplished. Even though 37 weeks is considered full term, there needs to be an indication for initiating labour. At 4cm without contractions, that is still not labour. Pitocin (oxytocin) is a drug with potential side effects. The risks and benefits need to always be weighed. ...Read more

37 weeks and 4 days pregnant dilated at 2 CM and 50% thinned with excessive discharge! what should I do?

Echogenic structure with vascularity within endometrial canal measuring 2.1x1.8x1.5cm (5weeks after D&C, I was 6 weeks preg). Shld I go for repeat D&C?
Possibly: The main concern is that the prior D&C was incomplete, and that there are still "retained products of conception" within your uterus. You should consult with your OB/GYN. They will probably have obtained a blood test for hCG, and depending on the results of that test, the detailed ultrasound findings, and whether you are experiencing bleeding, cramping or other symptoms, you may need another D&C ...Read more
Soon, very soon...: Your baby is probably "ready" and your cervix seems to be also but not the contractile muscles of your uterus. Science has not found a reliable way to predict the onset of labor yet in nullipara nor in multiparous women like you. Discuss "nipple stimulation" and "stripping of the membranes" with your obstetrical team or remain patient and hopeful. ...Read more
A week and half ago doc measured baby at 33 weeks 6 days. Ultrasound shows 3 days ago 33 3 days. Is baby growing?
Hard to say...: Ultrasound measurements for growth in the third trimester can be off as much as 3 weeks. A week-and-a-half isn't enough time to notice a large change in the baby's growth and results can be confusing. It may not be possible to know for certain if the baby is growing in this short time-frame. You may need additional ultrasounds to know if the baby is growing appropriately or not. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm 35 wks & 3 dys pregnant. My doctor said I was 80% effaced and 2/3 CM Dialated. Also lost MP and have some contractions. Labor soon?
It depends: There are so many factors in this question. Is this the first child? How long have you been 2/3 cm? And there is a lot of variability. As much as i hate to say it, there is no way of telling how long your labor may be, from 2-3 hours to over 24 hours. For children 2, 3, 4, etc.... That time will likely diminish. First children can be very unpredictable. ...Read more

33 wks pregnant irregular painless contractions, positive ffn test, 1 CM dilated, baby well into pelvis, 6th pregnancy, will i give birth early?
Hard to say: The fetal fibrobectin test is much more predictive of the real condition, or the truth, when the test is negative, than when it is positive. A single positive ffn test result is not highly predictive of preterm labor and delivery, and since you are probably not in active labor from irregular contractions, it's hard to answer your question with confidence. See your OB regularly as directed ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Mucus plug: The mucus plug is usually dark green to brownish and the size of the palm of your hand. You're probably having some bloody show from last office exam. When you go into labor has more to do with your uterus being ready to go into labor. I imagine it may be from today to the next week or so, but there's no way to guarantee ...Read more
