37 weeks and 4 days pregnant dilated at 2 cm and 50% thinned with excessive discharge! What should I do?

See your doctor

Hernias
You are losing yourmucous plug as you are dilating. Nothing to worry about unless you are concerned that you have ruptured your membranes. See you doctor to get evaluated

Could i go into labor soon im 37 weeks pregnant and im 2 cm dilated, 90% effaced and lost my mucus plug. Today i just been very emotional and aggravated with bad cramps could i be going into labor soon.

The

The stage of labor you are describing is called early labor, and it occurs when the cervix begins to dilate, the mucous plug is commonly lost in this stage. This stage is unpredictable. It can lasts from hours to days. Based on this post you are probably in active labor, or have already given birth to your baby. All the best to you and your bundle of joy!

36 weeks pregnant with 1 cm dilated and 50 effaced. What does this mean?

Preparing for labor

Pregnancy
A cervix 1cm dilated and 50% effaced means that your body is starting to prepare for labor. There's no way to predict exactly how long until labor comes: it may not happen until around your due date.

I'm 37 weeks today and I'm dilated 2-3 cm. Should my doctor induce me already?

Actually not needed

Doctors
For someone who is Multi-gravida ("Mommy of 3"), you can go from 2-3 cm to fully dilated in a matter of hours, so I would just be patient. As long as the baby is safe and good heart tones and the stress test is normal, just sit back and let nature take its course at 37 weeks.....

Ok im 39 weeks pregnant and only 1 in a half cm dilated and 50%effaced can i ask to be induced im so ready for it to be over?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Pregnancy
it is up to your doctor, if you were my pt I would induce you as the ideal time to deliver is 39-40 weeks according to a large study, I would admit you in the evening, put cervadil in the vagina to ripen the cervix and start pitocin and rupture membranes the next morning, induction now can prevent csection from macrosomia, meconium, cord problems which all become more common the longer you go !

I am 38 weeks pregnant with my 3rd. I am 4 cm dilated, more than 50% effaced and have been losing my mucus plug. Is labor anywhere in sight?

Sounds like it

Contraction
Most people labor when they dilate 3-5 cm. Sounds like you are close. Hopefully the contractions will kick in soon. Good luck.

Dr. Holly Maes answered:

I am 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant and I am 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I am having a lot of pelvic and abdominal pain. Am I having contractions?

You need evaluation!

Pain
Contractions are intermittent pain and you feel fine in between. If you are having constant, significant pelvic and/or abdominal pain, you need immediate evaluation. Not tomorrow, not in 3 hours - now. You could be having bleeding under the placenta (abruption), an infection or other problems. Constant pain is not contractions, so if this pain is bad and constant, get to the L&D or ER now.

In my 37th week of pregnancy. Last week check up i was 50% effaced, 1 cm dilated. I've been having menstrual like cramping am I going to be early?

Not necessarily

Menstrual
You may be having the cramping as a result of the recent pelvic exam. Some women have a lot of cramping before they actually go into labor and others feel little until they really go into labor.

Unpredictable

There is no way to predict exactly how long it will be until labor, although all of these signs you mention suggest it may not be long. Call your doctor if you are contracting every 5 minutes, you think that you have started leaking amniotic fluid, or if you have vaginal bleeding. Also call if you have decreased fetal movement. Good luck!
