A week and half ago doc measured baby at 33 weeks 6 days. Ultrasound shows 3 days ago 33 3 days. Is baby growing?

Hard to say...: Ultrasound measurements for growth in the third trimester can be off as much as 3 weeks. A week-and-a-half isn't enough time to notice a large change in the baby's growth and results can be confusing. It may not be possible to know for certain if the baby is growing in this short time-frame. You may need additional ultrasounds to know if the baby is growing appropriately or not. ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Probably: This type of pattern can be consistent with a non-viable pregnancy, but you should see your OB clinician in order to make a diagnosis and to make sure you do not have an ectopic pregnancy, which can be life-threatening. ...Read more

Lmp: 6 weeks 5 days. Ultrasound shows 5 weeks 5 days. Bleeding x 4 days. Ultrasound shows heartbeat @ 87, (+) fetal pole. Miscarriage?

Threatened AB: Any bleeding or cramping in your first trimester can be from a threatened miscarriage (or abortion, ab). The bleeding is always a worrisome sign and a fetal heart rate < 100 BPM is also worrisome. Follow your doc's instructions & remember that if you do miscarry, it is rarely from something you did and most are inevitable. Take care & best of luck. ...Read more

Bled whole pregnancy. At 7w(lmp) measured 6 weeks with small gestational sac. At 8w (lmp) measured 6w6d with sac at 4.5 weeks. HR 154. Miscarriage?

Bled whole pregnancy. At 7w(lmp) measured 6 weeks with small gestational sac. At 8w (lmp) measured 6w6d with sac at 4.5 weeks. HR 154. Miscarriage?

Not necessarily: Hi, Without seeing the ultrasounds it is a little confusing. At the first U/S, what was measuring 6wk?> the sac or the fetus, if they saw one. The second U/S would actually be reassuring; they measured a fetus at 6w6d (the difference from LMP would just mean your dates are off), but a fetal heart rate of 154 is reassuring. The continued bleeding is worrisome, but keep the faith! Good luck ...Read more

What causes a subchorionic hemorrhage? Started at 13 weeks and lost baby at 16 weeks. Passed large clots at 15 weeks & 10 hours before miscarriage

That can be difficul: To say. A placental abruption is what this is called when it happens later in pregnancy, usually due to trauma. Your loss is classified as a miscarriage though it did happen later than usual. The bleeding can be like a chain reaction, blood, cramping then more tearing away. There is a good chance u will be fine with the next pregnancy but review this with your doctor. There may not b a gd answ. ...Read more

Ultrasound measured foetus as 6 weeks 2 days one full week after measuring 5 weeks 6 days (just sac). Heart rate 126 i think miscarriage is likely?

Ultrasound measured foetus as 6 weeks 2 days one full week after measuring 5 weeks 6 days (just sac). Heart rate 126 i think miscarriage is likely?

Not necessarily: The fetus is now off by 4 days and the accuracy of us is about 4 days. Since the other measurement was the sac and this is the fetus, the different measurement may examine it all. The sac and the fetus do not always match exactly. The heart rate is normal so likely all is well. In any event, the next scan will be very helpful. Stay positive as these results to not suggest imminent miscarriage. ...Read more
