Yes: At first the kicks you notice will be few and far between. In fact, you may feel several movements one day and then none the next. Although your baby is moving and kicking regularly, many of his jerks and jolts aren't yet strong enough for you to feel. But later in the second trimester, those reassuring kicks will become stronger and more regular. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm 36 weeks now. Should i be concerned about too much baby movements? Knowing that a week ago i could barely feel her movements. Please advise me.
Normal: There is nothing wrong with too many fetal movements. There was probably just a change in position that enabled you to feel things more easily. Consider that this is the new "baseline" for you, and any decreases should be reported to your doctor. ...Read more

22-23 weeks baby had really strong movements, now 24 weeks, she's gentle but still active. Wonder if it's normal to have such strong movements.
Less room: You will find that at this point baby is adding on size and becoming more limited by the walls of the womb.Earlier gymnastic events are no longer possible in a tighter space. The fluid to baby ratio peaks at about 12-14 weeks before they are felt and declines to a minimum by birth. Gentle movements later on are the norm. ...Read more
Almost 29 weeks. Baby is so active I will feel 20+ fetal movements in 5-10 mins. But today I have felt 5 in 3.5 hours. I am worried! help!?
Kick counts count: Eat a bit of food or drink a small amount of juice, then lie on your left side and count how long it takes you to feel your baby move 10 times. You should feel 10 movements within 2 hours. If you don't, call your provider. Often women feel that their baby isn't moving enough because they are too busy, or are distracted by other things going on. Stop and pay attention you'll get a better idea. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Yes: You should feel your baby move every day. Babies have sleep cycles and you may not feel them move while you are sleeping. If it has been more than a couple of hours since you felt your baby move, try eating a snack or drinking juice, often this will make babies more active. If you are still not feeling movement you should call your doctor or the hospital to listen to the baby's heartbeat. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My infant won't make a bowl movement unless I stick a thermometer in her rectum and move it around. Is this normal? How do I get her to go on her own?
Bowel Movements: She will go on her own when she is ready to go. The biggest mistake we as parents make is thinking our babies have to go everyday. If you keep stimulating her with the thermometer, she will get to the point she will only go when she has that stimulus. So stop doing that. Some babies go multiple times a day, some go everyday, some go once a week. Adults do that too. Be patient. ...Read more
