Will 5 days of taking dilaudid at 35 weeks pregnant hurt my baby?

Will 5 days of taking dilaudid at 35 weeks pregnant hurt my baby?

No: Narcotics are not generally thought to be dangerous for development, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Babies in utero can, however, become dependent on such medications. Therefore, the shortest duration of treatment is advised--especially around the timing of delivery. Babies who are exposed to narcotics right before delivery can have (treatable) sleepiness and slow breathing. ...Read more

35 weeks pregnant got a growth scan done. Baby is measuring right but weight wise is small. He only weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces is this bad?

Does the mother have pregnancy induced hypertension? Does the mother smoke? Most important, was the abdominal circumference measurement done correctly? Small errors in the abdominal circumference measurement can affect the estimated weight greatly. ...Read more

I'm a little over 35 weeks pregnant and my baby doesn't move near as much as she used to. I might feel 3 kicks a day, if that! Is this normal?

Daily quickening: You should feel your baby kick every few hours at 35 weeks, so three times in a day is probably ok, especially if your recent ultrasound was normal and your ongoing monitoring shows no concerns. You should be checked by your obstetrician. ...Read more

35 weeks pregnant, had a growth scan and everything measured on time and correctly. The fluid level is good but baby only weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces bad?

35 weeks pregnant, had a growth scan and everything measured on time and correctly. The fluid level is good but baby only weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces bad?

Probably not bad: Sonograms are not very accurate at estimating the weight of an unborn baby. If you are healthy, eat a well balanced diet, have been gaining weight and have had an uncomplicated normal pregnancy and your counts of your baby's movements are good, there is little cause for alarm. Another growth scan with amniotic fluid index BPPand estimated fetal weight in 2 weeks may be all the reassurance you need ...Read more

I just started taking insulin at 35 weeks pregnancy. Will it do any harm to my baby?

I just started taking insulin at 35 weeks pregnancy. Will it do any harm to my baby?

Helps/not harms baby: Insulin (i) carries glucose through cell walls so its can be used. The (i) u take/make stays in your body controlling your blood sugar while baby actually begins to make its own during pregnancy. If your blood sugar level stays too high, baby makes xs (i)& puts away the xs sugar as enlarged organs. At delivery babies xs (i) can drive their blood sugar down to 0 & require iv's.Keep your level nl. ...Read more

If some one 35 weeks pregnant uses cocain one time at 35 weeks how long will it take to get clean.? And what are the chances of baby coming out dirty

Pregnancy & "coke": I wish this question was about the drinking kind of "Coke" (soda pop), but unfortunately the use of cocaine (one time?) during pregnancy has a severe impact on fetus & mother. Getting "clean" means no further use of the drug and indeterminate liver/kidney excretion rates. The treating OB MD must be informed immediately of cocaine use as the fetus may have withdrawal signs at delivery. ...Read more

I am 35 weeks pregnant and had two abortions and one induced abortion at 5 months due to holoprosencephaly child that was very painful want to know how much painful this time ll be to deliver a baby and whether baby will come on time or earlier?

Labor hurts: Most women find labor a lot of work and painful. They are blessed with selective forgetting since most are willing to do it again later. Your history of prior abortions will have no particular impact on the process. Labor will start when it decides to. Only about 5% deliver on their due date while 80% + deliver within 2 wks of it. ...Read more
